I don't speak Stock Marketese, but did France and Germany just take the first step to dissolving the EU?

They didn't say as much. But it seems they are basically wanting to establish rules that can only be met by 2 European countries --- France and Germany. Did they just tell the rest of Europe to take a hike?

Germany and France allying! That's like Rush Limbaugh marrying Gloria Steinem. The world has gone crazy I tell you. What's next? Dogs and cats living together?
Beats me. But if Roosevelt can ally with Stalin, anything is possible. Nations do not have friends. They have interests.

Excerpts from Thomas Aquinas' Childhood Journal

(Age 4)

Article XXXI: Whether I stole Laurie's apple juice during nap time?

Objection I: It would seem that I stole Laurie's apple juice during nap time. For it was said: "Thomas, go sit in the corner. And say you're sorry to Laurie for drinking her juice" (Miss Ellen).

Objection II: Further, once in the corner, I wedgied Billy and made him eat glue.

On the contrary, it is written: "Share everything" (that poster on the wall, right above the carpet where Billy puked up the glue).

I answer that we all have to share like it says on the poster. Firstly, because Holy Writ says so: "God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7). Also, everyone has to share because sometimes they have lots of something (juice, for example) that they never even drink and that someone else (me, for example) wants. When I play with my blocks, Miss Ellen makes me share with that Greek Orthodox kid, even though they're my blocks and he picks his nose and smells and is dumb. Hence, I should get to have juice when I'm thirsty. For the best part about school is the juice (except on Fridays when we get chocolate milk).

Reply to Objection I: If I have to share my blocks with a smelly nose-picker, then Laurie has to share her juice. I was only sharing her juice, just like the poster says. For the poster says to share everything, and "everything" includes juice. Hence, Miss Ellen shouldn't have made me sit in the corner.

Reply to Objection II: He started it.

Anti-War and Pro-Life

Ron Paul offers a stirring defense of human life (at the six minute mark). So why do the Manufacturers of Opinion at FOX hate him just as much as the Left, if not more?

Because he is also opposed to our Empire and to the corporate welfare that Empire entails. The notion that the manufacturers of right wing talk media actually care about the unborn more than they care about the Golden Calf is one of the most touchingly naive illusions of the prolife movement. Our ruling classes and the court prophets who serve them are about money, sex, and power. Those who threaten that narrative are made to disappear by the right wing media as much as by the left.

Good News from Wisconsin

A reader writes:

Good things are happening in Wisconsin!

We have three world-class Marian shrines.  The last one (Our Lady of Good Help) has been given to the care of the Fathers of Mercy, who are nothing short of excellent.

Fr Donald Hying, one of the finest priests I know,  now one of the finest bishops I know.  Many have prayed for this to happen, and our only fear is that we won't be able to keep him till retirement.

Bishop Hying joins a corps of fine, faithful bishops in the Badger State.   They act like shepherds, not CEOs.  I don't think Wisconsin's had a better bunch in my lifetime (and I'm nearly 42).

I don't think you'll report this last item, since we all know you hate the Latin Mass.  But I'll try anyway...Beginning August 21, Our Lady Of Mt Carmel in Kenosha will be offering a regular Sunday Mass in the Extraordinary Form.  The parish was recently given to the care of this dynamic priestly duo.

Much of what has happened would have been thought impossible a mere ten years ago.  I thank God I've seen these things come to pass.
Thanks!

Cheeseheads! Check thou it out!

Everybody is writing me...

...about the Voris Kerfuffle, assuming I'm going to jump on the story since, as is common knowledge among people who believe Pseudoknowledge, I "hate" him (almost as much as I am supposed to "hate" the Latin Mass, despite my repeated statements that I am grateful for any Mass) and so must naturally be delighted at his "exposure".

I won't go into it now, since my thoughts on the matter will appear on my Register blog tomorrow. However, I think creators, consumers and purveyors of pseudoknowledge should be aware that the title of the piece will be "In Defense of Michael Voris and Simon Rafe".

Today, my minions, I command you to check out Kevin O'Brien's blog as he ponders many things during Genesian Lent.

If you are wondering what Genesian Lent is, I command you to bug Kevin O'Brien for an explanation.

If you aren't wondering what Genesian Lent is, I commend you for stifling your curiosity. It makes you more malleable to my will.

That is all!

The Nicene Guys Conclude Their Discussion...

of Mary, Mother of the Son with good overview of Volume 3: Miracles, Devotion, and Motherhood

Nice quote from Lepanto too! "Christian hateth Mary whom God kissed in Galilee."

The good news is that, as my book tries to point out, that reflexive terror of Mary seems to be on the decline in Protestant circles, particularly among Emergent Evangelicals. Partly this is due to the phenomenon of the rising generation thumbing it's nose at the taboos and shibboleths of its elders. Mom and Dad regarded Mary as a danger, so junior sees her as Forbidden Fruit. But also there is a genuine spiritual longing for what has been lost by this long, unnatural, loathing of the one person who, more than any other, had the face and heart most like Christ's in this world. I welcome the return of young Protestants to Marian devotion. May their tribe increase! She is the Mother of *all* the baptized.

Zac Alstin reminds us...

...that mass murder of innocents is still wrong, no matter how much our myth of national greatness requires we believe otherwise.
