The Unknown
People fear the unknown. But what do we really know?
Every moment of each new day is unique, different. We like to believe we can script our lives, but there is only one screenwriter. His name is God. He is in control of everything from our heartbeats to our safety. That’s pretty humbling, huh?
Our attitude is in our control. So when life brings you unexpected trials or joy, embrace them with an attitude of optimism and peace. No matter the situation, remember who holds our tomorrows in His hands. He is good…

Words and Actions
What we say and do reflects what’s in our hearts. Are we spreading light and life, or are we focused on the negative?
If you speak truth and encouragement, keep going. If your words are condescending and judgmental, it might be time for heart surgery…

Flags
A country’s flag gives us a first glance into that country’s culture. Flags have symbols and colors that are meaningful.
The Lebanese flag has the colors red and white on it surrounding a cedar tree. Red represents bloodshed, while white represents purity. The cedar tree represents the Bible. Interesting, huh?
The American flag has thirteen stripes and 50 stars, each representing one of our 50 independent states and our original 13 colonies.
The next time you visit another country, or even a different state, take a look at their flag. You will learn something, and it will mean something to their citizens…

Rumors
People who gossip and spread rumors are not trustworthy. It’s wrong to talk about others when they aren’t present.
Life is interesting and unpredictable. Focus on the beauty that is your life, not the lives of others. We don’t know what they might be dealing with…

Free
Releasing yourself from judgment of others frees you from thinking small. You see the person for who they are, not your perception of them.
Wouldn’t you want others to look at you the same way, free of preconceived ideas about you? It’s something to consider…

Worry
How much time does you spend worrying? However much that is, it’s too much. Most of us don’t have time to waste, so eliminate worry from your life.
Eliminate worry? How? Change your focus. Keep your eyes on the Word of God. There are 365 times in the Bible we are told to not be fearful. That’s one time for every day of the year. I don’t believe that’s coincidental.
Peace of mind will replace worry. It doesn’t happen overnight, but it will happen if you commit…

Texting
Texting has made us lazy. Texting is convenient for quick check-ins, but they aren’t conversations.
Electronics have practically taken over our lives. Email, ZOOM and instant messaging are great for saving time. Yet, we need to make time for others. We need human connection, and you cannot get the same effect from a screen.
Replacing the sound of another voice seems to be the norm nowadays. Let’s change that…

Unguarded
We erect walls around ourselves to keep people out. If people get too close and see inside, they might not like us.
When you allow your guard to come down, it encourages others to do the same. We have an opportunity to connect at a deeper level. This creates intimacy. Deep down, don’t we want people we can be close to?
I encourage you to be unguarded. Some people will be judgmental. Those aren’t the people for you. Find your people…

Valentines Day
Today is Valentine’s Day, the day to celebrate love. So let’s examine this thing called love.
In America, we use the word freely. I “love” this movie, and I even use it to describe my favorite cheeseburger! But love is a verb.
The Bible gives us the best description of what love really is. The Apostle Paul wrote that love is patient, kind, and it doesn’t want its own way. Love trusts and protects, never wavering.
Celebrate your loved ones today and every day. I believe if you care for someone, you show them every day in some way, not just on Valentines Day…

Ego
Our ego is tied to our self-image. Egomaniacs have an inflated sense of self, while people with low self-esteem sell themselves short.
Our ego is attached to our desire to control our environment. We like to believe we are in control of our day and our lives. We aren’t. Separate yourself from your desire to control, letting your ego go in the process. It’s very hard to do because this habit has been built over long periods of time. When you do release your desire to control, you are truly free.
Remember, the only thing we have control over is our attitude…
