Take it Easy

We live at the speed of light, always on the go. We aren’t meant to be workaholics. We need human connection, play and rest.

Give yourself permission to take it easy sometimes. Rest and relax. If you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be any good to anyone else…

Impatience

I’m impatient. We live in what I call a “FedEx Society” where we want it now. I want it yesterday. Life doesn’t work instantly. It takes time to build a home, grow tomatoes or raise children.

Slow down a little. Invest time in what you are involved in. Live with purpose, not impatience…

There is goodness all around us. Sometimes it seems hard to find because the crazies get a lot of attention, but goodness is everywhere.

If you aren’t witnessing good, then I encourage you to take it upon yourself to do good. Do something for someone who can never repay you. Be good…

Users

When I was growing up, the term “user” meant a drug user. It still means that, but it also applies to people. People have agendas, and sometimes those agendas involve you. Be wary.

Do you want to meet people who have pure intentions? Hang out with toddlers. Toddlers only want your time and attention…

Tall Tales

All of us have heard fishing stories before, and the stories get better every time the person tells it.

But what about the stories we tell ourselves? We are lying to ourselves when we tell ourselves we aren’t good enough, that we shouldn’t try anything new because we will fail. The truth is, God created us. We are good enough. He wants us to succeed.

God didn’t create us and then forget about us. Trust Him…

WOW!!!

In 2016, suicide became the number two killer of our young people. Why have they lost all hope? This is reversible.

We must engage with our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, our kids friends and every other young person we meet. They need to know they have purpose, that their lives matter. I encourage you to have the difficult conversations. Do not hesitate, or it might be too late…

Chasing

Are you chasing anything? Maybe it’s success, a partner, health and wellness, or fulfillment. I believe we are all looking for something more than what life offers.

The only thing that will truly fill our heart’s desire is spiritual. And the funny thing is, the Spirit is chasing us. Let Him catch you…

Hope

Hope is a very big subject to write about. You could be hopeful that someone asks you to dinner, or if you are facing a terminal illness, you are hoping for one more Christmas with your family.
