Progress

We have heard of the “overnight success.” What a misnomer. Success comes, but it requires diligence, perseverance and commitment.

So often, people give up too quickly. Their expectations of overnight success are misguided. It takes time for us to develop.

If you are struggling with what you perceive to be a lack of progress, I encourage you to keep going. Your best days lie ahead if you decide that nothing can make you quit…

Sex

I’m certain the title of today’s blog got your attention! Good. Read on.

Sex is the number one search on Google. God created everything that’s good in the universe, and that includes sex. Satan perverts it through pornography, prostitution and in other ways.

Money is a useful tool. We need money to pay our bills and we can use it to help others. But for some people, money has become their god. Food is necessary to sustain our bodies, yet over half of our population here in the United States is obese.

The primary point I want to make is, if you are obsessed with something, you might be in danger of it becoming your god. There is only one God, as He wants you to obsess over Him…

Faithful

As children, we were taught to never lie, cheat or steal. Not everyone took to the teaching.

If someone lies, cheats, steals or participates in any type immoral behavior, they might get away with it. A short-term “success” of this kind does long-term damage to the individual. Their self-esteem takes the hit.

Staying faithful through tough situations is hard. But the situation will pass, and remaining solid will build you into a better, stronger person. Stay faithful…

Routine

Vacations are something we look forward to because they are a break from our routines. Routines are necessary for daily life, and yet they can produce boredom and even apathy.

People settle into routines in their free time, too. They watch television, play online games etc. Over time, these habits bring more boredom into our lives.

We must stimulate our minds with good books, art and music. We are hardwired to grow, and creating new neural pathways increases our desire to grow.

Find a new routine. Try something different. And where your new habit becomes less exciting, don’t give it up completely. Try something new!

Cockiness

Cockiness is unattractive. You know the type of person I’m referring to. Someone who brags about themselves, who has to “one-up” any accomplishments others have. Cocky people are insecure about themselves and their worth.

Confidence is attractive. People who quietly show strength of character, who do the work but don’t care who gets the credit are the type of people I surround myself with. They inspire me.

If you find yourself in a situation where you feel the need to brag, remember that it’s not about you…

Fooled!

You have unique gifts and abilities. If you are reading this, your purpose here on earth hasn’t been fulfilled.

The world will tell you that your dreams are crazy, they’re too big. Do not listen to them. Listen for the voice of the Creator. He will open doors for you, knock down hurdles and get you through the inevitable setbacks that lie ahead.

Your vision is yours alone. Others can’t see it, so don’t be fooled by their opinions and beliefs about your life. Get started, and no matter what, keep going…

Political Correctness

Political correctness was first recorded in history at the time of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. Today it has morphed into watching your language so you don’t offend anyone.

We are going to offend someone whether we have PC culture or not. Some people are wearing their feelings on their sleeves. They get offended easily, especially if your politics don’t align. This has got to stop. It’s destroying peoples ability to just be themselves for fear of insulting someone accidentally.

When you find yourself in a position where you need to apologize, do it immediately. And if you meant to hurt someone’s feelings, go to work on getting your heart right…

Trash Removal

Are there people in your life who aren’t good for you? Remove them.

If someone is dragging you down, disrespectful and discouraging, the problem is with them, not you. Sometimes it’s hard to recognize when you are in the middle of the storm. But you know something isn’t right.

You are here for a great purpose. The wrong people will get in the way of you achieving it. Take out the trash. Put your faith in God above and ask Him to guide you. He will help you…
