Hello everyone and happy Thursday! ❤

It’s been a while since I last shared an unboxing with you but we can all realise that, because of coronavirus, there are some delays in the mail lately. If we had owls instead of post offices things would’ve been much better right now. Still, yesterday I finally received my March Beacon Book Box EXPLOSIVE SECRETS box and I’m so very excited to share all the amazing goodies with you.

For those of you who don’t know, Beacon Book Box is a monthly-subscription US box founded by Cameron, the average bookworm next door, in which every month you receive a new YA release, as well as a bunch of bookish items, focusing on a specific theme.

As I mentioned above, the theme for the month of March was EXPLOSIVE SECRETS and the items featured in this box revolved around many series and genres, from Urban Dystopia and Sci-Fi, to Epic Fantasy and Mystery.

BOOK REVIEW: The Art of War, by Sun Tzu ~ A Guide to Win in Life *SPOILER FREE*

“THE ART OR WAR TEACHES US TO RELY NOT ON THE LIKELIHOOD OF THE ENEMY’S NOT COMING, BUT ON OUR OWN READINESS TO RECEIVE HIM; NOT ON THE CHANCE OF HIS NOT ATTACKING, BUT RATHER ON THE FACT THAT WE HAVE MADE OUR POSITION UNASSAILABLE.”
~ THE ART OF WAR, BY SUN TZU

SCHOOL IS BACK IN SESSION!

*LET MY POINT OUT THAT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN AND THIS IS AN INCENTIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH DC, IN WHICH I WAS SENT A FREE COPY TO REVIEW.*

Hello awesome nerds and happy Monday everyone!

Before moving on to the post, let me first thank DC for sending me a free copy of Gotham High to review, and for collaborating with me. It truly brightened my quarantine and I’m sure this beauty will brighten your days, too, especially if you’re DC fans, just as I am.

Gotham High is the new graphic novel by New York Times Bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz and Riverdale Comics illustrator Thomas Pitilli.

“From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Alex and Eliza and The Witches of East End comes a reimagining of Gotham for a new generation of readers. Before they became Batman, Catwoman, and The Joker, Bruce, Selina, and Jack were high schoolers who would do whatever it took–even destroy the ones they love–to satisfy their own motives.

After being kicked out of his boarding school, 16-year-old Bruce Wayne returns to Gotham City to find that nothing is as he left it. What once was his family home is now an empty husk, lonely but haunted by the memory of his parents’ murder. Selina Kyle, once the innocent girl next door, now rules over Gotham High School with a dangerous flair, aided by the class clown, Jack Napier.

When a kidnapping rattles the school, Bruce seeks answers as the dark and troubled knight–but is he actually the pawn? Nothing is ever as it seems, especially at Gotham High, where the parties and romances are of the highest stakes … and where everyone is a suspect.

With enchanting art by Thomas Pitilli, this new graphic novel is just as intoxicating as it is chilling, in which dearest friends turn into greatest enemies–all within the hallways of Gotham High!”

This feels like the PERFECT quarantine read and I will definitely pick it up by the end of the week, since Catwoman is one of my favourite anti-heroines and Batman is Apostolos favourite character in the DC universe!

Gotham High is being released on April 7, and if you guys want to pre-order the book, you can follow that link to do so.

We live in turbulent times and supporting local and indie bookstores, and businesses in general, is the least of what we can do. So, if you want to support indie bookstores by ordering from Indie Bound or Bookshop.org, you can follow this link to pre-order your copy from them.

And if you still haven’t been persuaded to get a copy of your own, let me just share with you the official trailer of the book that DC debuted on March 27, 2020, right in the heart of coronavirus outbreak to bring some joy in our lives!
