BOOK REVIEW: Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices, #3), by Cassandra Clare ~ Break my heart all you want!
~ QUEEN OF AIR AND DARKNESS (THE DARK ARTIFICES, #3), BY CASSANDRA CLARE

It took me a while to finish this book, that I have to admit. But it was all worth it. And I would gladly reread it again and again, even though I know that I will practically break my heart with my own hands when I decide to reread The Dark Artifices series. Because I will reread The Dark Artifices series. By the Angel, I will!
Hello awesome nerds and welcome to this review I was dying to share with you for quite some time now. But, alas, I’m only now fully recovering from my reading slump, I put my writing projects aside for the month of April (Because, hello! OWLs Magical Readathon has already begun), and I decided to fully delve into my reading challenge of 2019. Which means I managed to read the last 300 pages of Queen of Air and Darkness in less than two days. I didn’t need sleep. I needed answers. And boy, what answers they were!

“What if damnation is the price of true love?
Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. In the wake of the tragic death of Livia Blackthorn, the Clave teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the disease that is destroying the race of warlocks.
Meanwhile, Julian and Emma take desperate measures to put their forbidden love aside and undertake a perilous mission to Faerie to retrieve the Black Volume of the Dead. What they find in the Courts is a secret that may tear the Shadow World asunder and open a dark path into a future they could never have imagined.
Caught in a race against time, Emma and Julian must save the world of Shadowhunters before the deadly power of the parabatai curse destroys them and everyone they love.”
*DISCLAIMER! THIS REVIEW WILL BE ALL ABOUT THE FEELS BUT WITH NO SPOILERS WHATSOEVER. WHETHER YOU’VE READ THE BOOK OR NOT, PROCEED FREELY.*
Before talking about my thoughts and feelings about Queen of Air and Darkness, let me just be done with the technicalities of this novel first.
So, the third instalment in The Dark Artifices series is divided into three parts: Feel No Sorrow, Thule and Lady Vengeance. Each one was heartbreakingly beautiful, exceptionally well-written, with amazing descriptions, dozens upon dozens of plot twists and revelations, and A LOT of character development. I know I’ve said it before, both in my Lady Midnight, as well as in my Lord of Shadows review, but I do believe with a passion that this trilogy is Cassandra Clare’s best work so far.

BOOK REVIEW: Arrowheart, by Rebecca Sky ~ Fun and refreshing, yet with a few annoying YA tropes and characters. *SPOILER FREE*
~ARROWHEART, BY REBECCA SKY
[image error]
Hello awesome nerds and happy April everyone!
I cannot believe how quickly this year is passing by and how few books I have read so far, compared to the previous years. But no matter, today we’re here with a new book review; the review of Arrowheart, by Rebecca Sky, aka the first book in The Love Curse series.
This review will be spoiler free, mostly because I don’t really know how I felt about this book and I simply want to focus on the technicalities of this novel, and just let you choose whether you want to read it or not.
With that being said, let’s get straight to the summary of Arrowheart.
“Kiss the boys and make them cry…
The gods are gone.
The people have forgotten them.
But sixteen-year-old Rachel Patel can’t forget—the gods control her life, or more specifically, her love life.
Being a Hedoness, one of a strong group of women descended from Greek God Eros, makes true love impossible for Rachel. She wields the power of that magical golden arrow, and with it, the promise to take the will of any boy she kisses. But the last thing Rachel wants is to force someone to love her…
When seventeen-year-old Benjamin Blake’s disappearance links back to the Hedonesses, Rachel’s world collides with his, and her biggest fear becomes a terrifying reality. She’s falling for him—a messy, magnetic, arrow-over-feet type of fall.
Rachel distances herself, struggling to resist the growing attraction, but when he gives up his dream to help her evade arrest, distance becomes an insurmountable task. With the police hot on their trail, Rachel soon realizes there are darker forces hunting them—a group of mortals recruited by the gods who will stop at nothing to preserve the power of the Hedonesses—not to mention Eros himself, who is desperate to reverse the curse…
Rachel must learn to do what no Hedoness has done before—to resist her gift—or she’ll turn the person she’s grown to love into a shadow of himself… forever.”
So, Arrowheart was a fun, refreshing and quite original book, yet with a few YA tropes I don’t really like (e.g.: a girl that has a gift she doesn’t really want and she’s trying to get rid of it, simply because she met this guy with whom she can’t be because of this gift). Ugh… Please tell me something I don’t know.

Review: Guardian of the Auras by Victoria Moschou — Blattzirkus
Aurora finds herself on a mission, opening a chest she shouldn’t have and therefore freeing the auras. Those auras were locked away for centuries and were embodied in the humdrums, letting feelings rule over them and therefore almost destroying humankind. To save the world, Aurora has to find the auras and lock them back into the chest they escaped from.

March Wrap Up
Hello awesome people!
I can’t believe that March is almost over and that I’m slowly crawling out of my reading slump. Yay me!

April TBR
Hello awesome nerds and welcome back to Victorious Pages!
I’m slowly getting out of my reading slump and I hope that the books I decided to read next month will help me overcome this beast completely! Y’all know how annoying reading slumps can be. And even though my TBR is completely out of control once again, I decided to reread some favourites, partly because this has helped me with previous reading slumps, and partly because I decided to participate to the O.W.L.s Magical Readathon 2019, hosted by G, from Book Roast.
Essentially the O.WL.s Magical Readathon is a monthly reading challenge, in which you have to read a certain amount of books, and by doing so pass your O.W.Ls, according to the magical career you’ve chosen.
So, I’ve chosen the Curse Breaker’s career, which means that I will have to pass my Ancient Runes, Arithmacy, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Potions and Transfiguration O.W.L.s. In other words this means that I will have to read a total of six books in the month of April.
Judging from the books I’ve chosen to read, I think I’ll manage to do so.
So, my April TBR consists of:
Ancient Runes ~ Retelling: A Court of Thorns and Roses , by Sarah J. Maas
Arithmacy ~ Work written by more than one author: Conversations , by Christine Bottas, Victoria Moschou et al.
Charms ~ Age-line: read an adult work: Nevernight , by Jay Kristoff
Defence Against the Dark Arts ~ Reducto: title starts with an “R”: Red Queen , by Victoria Aveyard
Potions ~ Next ingredient: sequel: A Court of Mist and Fury , by Sarah J. Maas
Transfiguration ~ Sprayed edges or red cover: Heart of Thorns , by Bree Barton
Only if I manage to read all of those books I’ll be able to participate to the N.E.W.T.s Magical Readathon 2019, which will probably be hosted in May. But I won’t put that much pressure on myself. I will just try to enjoy the books I decided to read in April, regardless of the outcome. Besides, life can be pretty unexpected sometimes.
How about you, dearies?
Which books are you planning on reading in April? Are you going to participate to the O.W.L.s Magical Readathon? If yes, which magical career have you chosen?
Thank you all for stopping by once again. It means the world to me and I want you to know that I most certainly don’t take your presence here for granted.
Love you all to Pluto and back!

Favourite and Least Favourite Books of 2019 So Far
Hello awesome nerds and happy Saturday everyone!
March is almost over and I’m finally getting out of my reading slump (slowly, still effectively), so I thought I should share with you my favourite and least favourite books of the year so far. I know many of you are struggling with reading slump, so why not help you overcome it?
