Firstly, I have to admit my initial surprise with reading this book.  With the movie a few years back, and all the talk, and trailers, etc, I had been under the impression that this was a zombie apocalypse novel–wrong.

This is a vampire apocalypse novel.  Something I had never even heard of, and I tend to read a lot of vampire novels–of all shapes and sizes.

A Quick Note

So, since I've gone back to school to get my MFA in writing popular fiction, I have homework.  ^_^  Part of that involves keeping a blog about the books I read for class.  So, for the next few months, there will be weekly blog posts about different novels dealing with different types of monsters.  Most of the books are horror novels.

Okay, so from here on out, I promise to be better about this blogging thing.  Mainly because . . .

I have a novel coming out!!!  ::dance dance dance::

My Young Adult novel, ETERNAL SHADOWS, has been accepted by Cool Well Press and is due out February 2012.

Edits are in, and so everything is nearing the final stages of readiness.  Hopefully I'll have some cover art to reveal soon, as well as some copies to give away.  I'm looking into a number of ways to promote the book, and getting lots of...

Finally allowed back in . . .

My, my . . . I guess the winter went rather quickly.

And I lost my password . . . oops.

Anyway, here I am, getting back in the saddle.  ^_^  I don't have any news to post at the moment, though there is some on the horizon, and some more that is just taunting me with its possibility.  So hopefully I'll have something to really update about soon.  For now, I just wanted to get signed in once again, and remind myself that I have a website that needs updating.

Okay . . . Brave New World, so to speak . . .

So, it seems the Windows Live has come together with WordPress in an attempt to make my life better.  But at the moment I am just confused.  Hopefully this will all work out okay, and this blog will appear on my website . . . as well as here on WordPress.

That said, above is the reason why I needed a username (which is a combination of both my name and a character, because my name was taken) and why this blog site is 3katemartin–again, my name was taken, so I tacked my favorite number on it.
