Barry Flanagan was a sculptor. He is best known for his bronze statues of hares and other animals.
Flanagan studied architecture at Birmingham College of Art and Crafts from 1957–1958, and then sculpture at Saint Martin's School of Art in London from 1964–1966. He taught art at Saint Martin's and at the Central School of Art and Design from 1967–1971.
