Mouse Guard Pin-Up

Hot off my drawing table! I just finished this watercolor piece for Baltimore Comic Con Yearbook, celebrating David Petersen’s fantastic and whimsical Mouse Guard. It’s been awhile since I did watercolor but I think this piece turned out okay. (Watercolor and brown ink on illustration board.) You can buy this special Mouse Guard art book at Baltimore Comic Con in September.

Now, that’s out of the way. I can focus back on my Hulk work for Marvel and couple of commissions for San Diego Comicon. Since I don’t have a new sketchbook this year, I’ll be bringing bunch of original art to sell at the show – Mostly Marvel covers and other published work.

San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner! This year’s show is couple of weeks earlier than previous, giving us comic professionals less time to prep for the big gathering. Besides my dignity, I’ll have several things for sale at the San Diego Comicon this year. I’ll list them as things get closer to the show date.

First up: “Ghost Dog in Hell”. My partner in crime, Tom Sniegoski and I will be selling this super limited 11″ x 17″ art print at my table. (I’ll be sitting next to the gigantic Geof Darrow and Mike Mignola.) “Ghost Dog in Hell” is part of the big creator-owned book, World of Payne, that I’m launching with Tom Sniegoski early next year. (Look for more detailed announcements later.)

This high quality art print will be signed by both me and Tom Sniegoski at the table. The price of this fantastical art print is $10. That’s right,10 measly dollars. Again this is super limited, so first come, first served.

I guess the cat is out of the bag. Yes, the secret Marvel project that I’m working on is the Hulk with the fantastic Greg Pak.

Greg and I have been working like a fiend getting this Hulk on paper. And it has been a blast. You guys are in for a treat. It’s one of the best works that I’ve done at Marvel. This Hulk can be described in 5 words: Action, Adventure, Humor and Kirby Monsters!

You can read more about it here at comicbook.com. Here’s the full interview with me and Greg. http://comicbook.com/2015/06/24/the-hulk-gets-totally-awesome

Marvel will post more art very soon. Excelsior!
