Well, my birthday was a blast. Now it’s back to work on Wolverine. I’ve finished the cover to Savage Wolverine #3 awhile back and it’s been colored and catalogued. I’ll post the final official colored version later.

Here’s an interesting note. I did something different when I completed the Wolverine cover this time around – I used three different colored inks on the original art which resulted in a pretty bold image. Here’s a partial look of the original cover of Savage Wolverine #3.

Celebrating My Birthday With Art

In celebration of my 41st birthday, I took the entire day off and went to the Smithsonian American Art Museum at Washington DC, where I enjoyed seeing some of the best art in the country including my favorite Thomas Moran painting – “Grand Canyon of Yellowstone” (1872). It has been a very inspiring day.

Wolverine #4 Cover Rough Pencil

Still plowing through my Savage Wolverine story and having a blast. I can’t believe January launch is right around the cover. Cards Comics & Collectibles Comic Store in Reisterstown, Maryland is planning a launch party when it comes out. More info later.

Here’s the rough pencil of the Savage Wolverine #4 cover. Please note that this is just a preliminary stage of the foreground figure. I’m still tweaking and redesigning some of the background elements on the cover, but I’m pretty happy how this is turning out.

I’ll post the final finished cover when it’s officially released by Marvel later on.
