Cloned Heat II: Mementos #MFRWHooks #RainbowSnippets #SnipSun #8Sunday

Genre:M/M erotica, sci-fi
Blurb:

While fleeing fearsome Pingucury raiders, hunky roughnecks Iker Macauley and Peregrine Varga encountered Ohannes Hertz, a pleasure clone left for dead at Lord Gabriel Blackwood's ranch. The grateful Ohannes offered the pair a place to hide and refresh themselves, and the trio became intimately acquainted.
Iker and Peregrine hope to get Ohannes to the safety of the monastery before they return to company headquarters for their new assignment, but their mission is interrupted by a group of randy renegade soldiers under the command of the rogue general Darden Bissette.
Finn Storm is an amphibious pleasure clone created by Bissette to fulfill his merman fantasies. Finn is full of surprises and Ohannes swiftly falls under the seductive siren's spell.

Snippet

“Ohannes is certainly naïve, but we don’t know what kind of bond he had with Blackwood. He might have been the old boy’s numero uno.”

“I know that Pretty Boy wants to rescue Blackwood, and I hope the monks can talk him out of it.”

Iker peeked into the suite. Ohannes was putting on a pair of black stone earrings shaped like stars. The willowy young man ran his finger over a pair of glimmering golden cufflinks. A black stone carved in the shape of a letter G adorned one cufflink and a letter B adorned the other.

“Put ‘em in your carrying bag and let’s scat,” Iker commanded. “We ain’t got all day to traipse down memory lane, Babycakes.”

NotesI started out strong visiting blog hops this week but fell off track because I was working on a new Cloned Heat installment inspired by one of the Reedsy prompts. I ended up creating a (relatively) clean segment for Reedsy, followed by an explicit double feature. Both are currently available only on LBRY. The story is out of chronological order and I can't say when it will be published on Amazon.
I'm excited about this story, except that now I still have to create Cloned Heat III for March publication. Agh!
Instead of featuring the entire first chapter from Cloned Heat II for the March MFRW Steam hop, I intend to share the entire first chapter from General Bissette's A.I.'s as a special surprise. This will annoy some, delight others, and the majority probably won't give a toss either way.

The banner was created on Pixlr with a free-use image by Gerd Altmann on Pixabay.
You can purchase the full, uncensored version of The A.I.s of General Bissette here for 30 LBC (approximately $0.60):http://bit.ly/AIsOfGenBLBRY
Or you can grab just the non-explicit portion of the story here for 15 LBC (approximately $0.45).http://bit.ly/SolServLBRY
Somebody stop me! In my next life, I need a brain that works sensibly.

Cloned Heat II: The Mystery of Master Blackwood #MFRWHooks #RainbowSnippets #SnipSun #8Sunday

Snippet

“I’ll hurry,” Ohannes promised. “I just want to see if I can find some jewelry and maybe a shirt or a jacket, just a memento to remind me of Master Blackwood and connect me to him so I’ll see him again someday.”

“I hope this kid’s romantic notions don’t wind us up in a pack of trouble,” Iker muttered to Peregrine as Ohannes searched through his master’s opulent suite for keepsakes. “Do you think his master had real feelings for him? You looked at the roster. Blackwood had thirteen pretty clone boys to serve the desires of himself and his guests. He passed Skinny around like a party favor. I think he might have been proud of his sexy little investment, but I doubt they had a soul bond. Boy’s fooling himself if he believes that.”

Sally's Scribbles: THE KISS - WEP DL

Sally's Scribbles: THE KISS - WEP DL:   WEP FEB 2021 - THE KISS Here we go again. #WEP 2021 begins with the first of our arty prompts - The Kiss!
Very nice and, I think, rather realistic.
In my brief stage "career," I once auditioned for a part where I had to kiss the actor who was auditioning. My face went beet red. The director said, "if you don't kiss him, I will." I figured that Steve would probably prefer that Tony didn't kiss him, but who can say? I'm sure the kiss I gave him was the unsexiest kiss he ever received. I smashed my face against his and gave a quick smack.
I didn't get the role, and I wasn't surprised.
I was definitely not cut out for romantic scenes.

The Kiss: #WEP2021 meets WIP Wednesday

The Kiss

Dream Lover

Pepper was filled with conflicting emotions. The dowdy, forty-seven-year-old nurse’s aide had been dismayed to learn that one of her longtime heroes, blues-rock guitarist Gerry Clifford, had been placed in a care home in London’s storied Crouch End borough. At just sixty-two years old, Gerry had been diagnosed with dementia.

Pepper always thought that Gerry was sweet and smart, and she felt that what was happening to him was terribly unfair. She wondered if he was frightened. She knew that she would be. So, she sent a wish into the Universe, inviting Gerry to come to visit her if he felt lonely or afraid. On one hand, she thought this was a foolish thing to do. On the other hand, she was an adept oneiromancer, although she had been trying to avoid the Dreamlands lately.

While working the night shift at Trinity Gardens Retirement Community, Pepper slipped into the employee lounge and dozed. To her delight, Gerry came to visit her. To her surprise, he expressed romantic feelings for her.

“Surely he’s mistaking gratitude for desire,” Pepper told herself. “I’ll have to straighten him out, gently. I can’t let myself fall for him. No more dream lovers—not ever.”

Pepper sat on the dilapidated bed in her cold, squalid bedroom. She found a relaxation video on the computer, lay down, and pulled the covers up around her. Her quintet of cats joined her, curling up beside her. As Pepper began to drift off, she sensed Gerry’s gentle presence.

“What are their names?” Gerry inquired.

“Who?” Pepper asked.

“The cats, silly bird. What are they called?”

“They’re called cats,” Pepper responded puckishly. “You said it yourself.”

Gerry smiled and caressed Pepper’s face.

“Blimey smart-arse,” he teased. “I know you wonder why I like you, but you oughtn’t. You make me smile.”

“I’m a fat, ugly lump.”

“I bloody well beg to differ.”

“Are you going to tell me you don’t think I’m fat?”

“I’m telling you that you ain’t an ugly lump. Anyways, ain’t nobody ever mistook me fer beautiful. Why fret about it? If some arsehole can’t see the good in you, they don’t deserve to know you. Why don’t you forget this nonsense and come dancing with me in the Dreamlands? C’mon, take my hand. We’ll be there in a flash.”

All Dressed Up for the Dance

Pepper left her tired body and followed Gerry through the gate that he conjured. They emerged in a modest room at a motel in the Dreamland city of Falona.

“This is one of me permanent residences in the Dreamlands,” Gerry explained. “Take a look in the wardrobe, Darlin’. It don’t lead to Narnia, but you can imagine something lovely to wear and you’ll find it there. C’mon, hop to! I wanna get dancin’.”

“Gerry, I don’t know how to dance,” Pepper protested.

“I really don’t either. That’s the nice thing about bein’ astral. Your thoughts take the lead. You’ve never been dancin’ in your dreams?”

Pepper shook her head.

“Then allow me to be your first partner.”

“My only partner,” Pepper corrected. “Once I’ve danced with you, I won’t ever want to dance with anyone else.”

“Well, maybe not a slow dance, but I’m sure that you’ll want to dance other styles with others. Take Paul and David, for instance. Me brothers like to cut a rug. I’d not get jealous if you wanted to do a little tango with Paul or Davy. Each one of ‘em has his own unique style.”

“I just hope I don’t end up making a fool of myself.”

“You won’t. Do you fancy my look?”

Gerry spun around in front of the mirror and his casual clothes transformed into a sharp tuxedo.

“I have to say, I never imagined you in a tux,” Pepper admitted.

“’Ey, I was capable of bein’ elegant when I wanted to. It didn’t happen often, but sometimes I liked to play fancy.”

“You look very fetching, my sweet fetch.”

“Now it’s your turn. I wanna see what you choose.”

Pepper closed her eyes and imagined herself in a ball gown. She spun around as Gerry had. When she looked in the mirror, she was dressed in an orchid chiffon gown with a full, frilly skirt.

“You look luscious, my comely clairvoyant,” Gerry praised.

“Are you sure I don’t look like a giant dish of sorbet? I like the color of this gown, but I’m not sure it’s right for someone with my build.”

“Well, I like sorbet, and sherbet, and ice cream, and very recently I’ve discovered that I have quite the craving for Pepper. It’s my very favorite spice. Now, let’s have a little vertical expression of a horizontal desire, shall we?”

Come Dancing

Gerry and Pepper walked from the hotel to the grand ballroom. The revelers spun and twirled with ease, and Pepper feared that she was going to wind up as a laughingstock. Sensing her unease, Gerry approached the bandstand and spoke to the orchestra leader. The handsome, olive-skinned man with the slick black hair seemed happy to see Gerry and the pair embraced. Gerry returned to Pepper as the band began to play Artie Shaw’s “Stardust.”

“That’s me brother-in-law, Cecil,” Gerry remarked as Pepper stepped uncertainly into his open arms. “” E’s married to me eldest sister, Nancy. C’mon, Darlin’, relax! Yer spine is stiff as a rod.”

“I’m afraid I’m going to squash your cute little feet with my big, clumsy ones,” Pepper fretted.

“I ain’t sure me feet are that cute. Anyways, you oughtn’t worry about it. Just let yourself move with the music. Before you know it, we’ll be the smoothest couple on the floor. Close your eyes and move how you feel.”

Pepper closed her eyes and allowed herself to move with Gerry. As the song crescendoed, his lips pressed against hers, and she felt as if the two of them were melting together, becoming one with the music and the Universe.

Snippet

Ohannes Herod Hertz was disconsolate about having to leave the only home he had ever known. The young pleasure clone insisted on looking through his master’s bedroom for a memento.

“Son, we really don’t have time,” roughneck foreman Iker Mehmûd Macauley insisted. “The military or the Pingucury could come through here at any minute. We need to get moving early if we’re to have any hope of getting to the monastery by nightfall.”

“Let him see if he can find a little something to take with him, Ike,” Peregrine Cenric Varga countered. “The poor kid is losing everything he’s ever known. Let’s make it quick, though, Ohannes. The Pingucury usually attack at night, but they’re unpredictable. The military is supposed to protect civilians, but there’s a lot of corruption in the ranks. I’d prefer to avoid the lot of them.”

NoteI've received a couple of complaints about the brevity of my snippets. The Cloned Heat series is comprised of short stories with an approximate 3000-word count for each book. If I gave away an entire chapter each time, I'd be giving away most of the book in a month. Think of it like the little spoonful you get if you go to an ice cream shop and ask for a sample. I'm giving you a taste of the story.
Also, it works out nicely for me to do three brief snippets culminating with the entire first chapter when the MFRW Steam hop rolls around. At this point, I'll be preparing to introduce the next book in the series. You can think of MFRW Steam day as Free Cone Day.

I try to do the sandwich thing myself. I remember one occasion when I was participating in a generally friendly writing competition and one person was rude to me early on in the comments. I was a bit salty and sarcastic with her because of her tone with me but I left it at that.
It was like blood in the water though, because a bunch of other commenters jumped on me, insulting my work. It got so bad that one of the group's organizers called people out on their behavior. It reminded me of being back in school. I've never had anything like that happen again. I have to say, I'm still salty about it.
