In other news, I’ve been busy writing the so-far untitled fourth Constabulary Casefile featuring Caelin Morrow.
Stay safe and healthy, fellow humans.

And in other news, my editor has been hard at work on Fear No Darkness (Ghost Squadron #4) since last Monday.

Done!
I just finished writing Fear No Darkness (Ghost Squadron #4). It took a bit longer than I’d hoped, in large part because I wrote most of it from the first person perspective – Colonel Zack Decker was telling the story – and that always takes a wee bit more time and effort. Now comes the revision process which will take until the end of the month, then it’s off to my editor, so it’s looking like a late February release date.

Happy New Year
May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live!
May Your Pockets Be Heavy and Your Heart be Light. May Good Luck Pursue You Each Morning and Night.
May you always have a clean shirt, a clear conscience, and enough coins in your pocket to buy a pint!
May your troubles be less and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door.
May luck be your friend in whatever you do and may trouble be always a stranger to you.
And may we all be alive at this same time next year.
Happy New Year to all my readers.
Yes, I know. I haven’t posted anything in six weeks, but sometimes, inspiration doesn’t come all that well. In any case, I’m 90 percent done with Fear No Darkness (Ghost Squadron #4), so expect it sometime in early February. And now, to celebrating the new year.

Winter is Here
We woke up to a carpet of white stuff this morning, only a few days after I put our snowman folk art statue we call Mister Winter by the front door. Though this first snowfall of the season is unlikely to remain on a ground that’s not yet frozen, it marks a drastic change from the balmy, September-like weather we’ve had for the first part of November. Oh well. I’m not a winter person. Never have been, never will be. But when you live in the Great White North, you get to be a person experiencing winter whether you want to or not.
On the writing front, Fear No Darkness (Ghost Squadron #4) is slowly inching its way to the three-quarters completion mark but I don’t see a December release as realistic any more. Mid to late January seems to be the newest release date. There’s just so much going on in the story that it’s taking me longer than expected. I also have a high level concept of the next, as of yet untitled, Constabulary Casefiles story, which I’ll start working on once I complete Fear No Darkness.
And that’s about it from here. Stay safe and healthy, my friends.

Happy Autumn
I can’t believe it’s mid-October already, but the evidence is there. Leaves are no longer green, when they’re not already lying on the ground, dried up and waiting for a rake. Although we had a few good warm days earlier this week, it’s grey and rainy outside today, just the sort of weather to keep you inside.
But we’ve not been idle. On the contrary. Cold Comfort (Decker’s War Book 2) has come out in audiobook format and is slowly appearing on various retailer websites. If yours isn’t on the list give it a week or two.

If you want to help ensure the author rather than the big retailers receives most of the sales revenue from the Decker audiobooks, I encourage you to visit Authors Direct. My publisher has set up a storefront where all of the audiobooks we’re producing will appear. The two first Decker’s War books are already there, and I’m hoping the third, Fatal Blade, will be done before Christmas. And after that, it’s on with the remainder of my books. Have a look.

Finally, I’m at the halfway mark for Fear No Darkness (Ghost Squadron #4) and I’m trying something a little different. Because of the scope and reach of the story, which covers the events that trigger the downfall of the Commonwealth, Zack Decker himself is telling the tale, much like Caelin Morrow narrates her Constabulary Casefiles. So far, I’m enjoying it immensely. I’m also hoping it will be done before Christmas.
And that, my friends, is all the news that’s fit to tell. Stay safe and healthy.

It’s Out
Good day, everyone. On Stormy Seas (Siobhan Dunmoore Book 8) has been released as previously announced and the ebook is available for purchase at all major retailers. The paperback is available on Amazon, but our printer is experiencing some delays in getting the hardcover as well as the paperback distribution to other than Amazon set up. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

On Stormy Seas
The newest Siobhan Dunmoore adventure will be released next Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in ebook format through all major retailers. The print versions (paperback, hardcover, and large print) will hopefully be available on the same day, but if not, it won’t be long after. You can pre-order the ebook from several retailers already by following this link or heading straight for your favorite online bookseller. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

And Off We Go
I just sent On Stormy Seas (Siobhan Dunmoore Book 8 ) to my editor. I’m curious to see how she enjoys it. Since Siobhan begins the story by taking up a very senior staff job, there is more intrigue and politics than outright action in this one, inevitably. The Commonwealth isn’t fighting any major wars and any combat action stemming from the dark and dirty little wars of peace involve a few ships here and there, not massive fleets. Now I must turn my attention to the fourth Ghost Squadron outing, where the first signs of the Commonwealth’s impending downfall become visible.
Stay safe and healthy, my friends.

Decker’s War in audio format
Though it’s been slowly percolating through the online ecosystem for the last 3-4 weeks, the audiobook version of Death Comes But Once has finally reached Amazon and Audible, the biggest retailers in the audiobook game, so consider this the official announcement. The following link will take you to the retailer selection page:

The narrator, Henry Jones, did a great job and he’s now working on the second Decker’s War book, Cold Comfort. Our plan is to have the entire series done by the autumn of 2023 by Henry. I know some of you are thinking, what about the Siobhan Dunmoore stories that haven’t been produced in audio yet? We’re working on a plan to get those done over the next year or so as well.
