This is another fine specimen from my local Tesco Lotus. I was tempted to buy it, but it’s a bit too coherent. Clearly, this was the result of some sort of watermark or copy/paste mishap. Copyrights and intellectual property are still just weird things that only foreigners pay attention to throughout most of Asia.
Engrish at the Hypermarket
I frequently stop at the Tesco Lotus hypermarket on my way home from the gym. I like to go between 7 and 8 a.m., when it’s just me and the bored sales clerks. They sell clothes, and I often browse the garments for exceptional mutilations of the English language. Occasionally, I can’t resist. I bought the one below yesterday, and I’m quite pleased with it. I like to see the world, sure. My favorite part is “Authentic Commentary Association.” It’s not the most stunning Engrish specimen that I’ve come across, but I like it.

This is not a blog.
Because blogs get updated. I’ve been super focused on my writing lately. Yesterday, my old friend Gail contacted me to ask what happened to my blog (Hi, Gail!), so I decided I would at least keep posting specimens of particularly amusing Engrish that I find around Thailand.
