Our Wooded Adventure

We live in a quiet, little subdivision. Across the street from us are woods. This is the description of them. I am leaving out the proper names of things, because I’d like my location to remain a mystery to the world.

Saying Goodbye to a Child

I am a mom to three fabulous children! Tomorrow is the oldest’s birthday. If he were still alive, he’d be turning sixteen. I keep doing the math to make sure I’m right because I can’t believe I’m old enough to have a sixteen year old. The hardest thing I have ever had to do was … Continue reading "Saying Goodbye to a Child"

Beginning to Run

Are you one of those people who watches people run and wants to be one of those people? You see the joy on their face and hear them talk about the rush and think, “I can do that.” You lace up your old tennis shoes, put in your headphones and you hit the pavement. The … Continue reading "Beginning to Run"

Guest Post: Starting Small by Raphael Collazo

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither were the pyramids of Giza, the Acropolis, Angkor Wat, or any other marvel of human history. They were built by laying one stone at a time. If the builders had resolved to build each structure in a week, they would have quickly lost motivation, and we wouldn’t have … Continue reading "Guest Post: Starting Small by Raphael Collazo"

Changing Things Around – interested in a Lifestyle Blog?

If you’ve been following my social media or blog, you’ll know that I’ve been struggling with content. I’ve decided to change this to a lifestyle blog. It will still be book heavy, but I have so much going on in my life that my content is no longer creative. It’s all pretty predictable.

What will it include?

Book Reviews and author interviewsMy healthy lifestyle (yoga and vegetarian journey)Homeschool/ParenthoodArt and other entertainment (I’m pretty geeky, so expect a lot of sci-fi and fantasy in that department.)

I want this to be a place to provide support, joy, and inspiration, but also entertaining.

Don’t worry, authors. I’ll still accept books to review, just not as many as I have been. I haven’t had time to get through 1-2 books/week like before. I love my author friends and want to continue to support them.

I will not be posting daily anymore either. That gets to be too much. I haven’t worked out the schedule yet, but I’ll come up with something. I’ll also be working on a new name and the layout.

Thank you for being patient as I gradually make the changes around here. I hope you enjoy it and I understand that it won’t be for everyone, but I think it’s something I need to do for myself.

In a book slump and working things out

Here’s what’s going on in my life. I used to complain that I had no hobbies. Now I have too many, and I love them all!

I want to review books and help authors promote their books.

I want to write.

I want to paint.

I want to do yoga and go to school to be certified to teach it.

I want to do everything!

I am having trouble finding the time to balance it all. So, I’m in a slump. I am trying to figure out how to revamp so I can combine my worlds. I don’t want 3 IG accounts, 2 Twitter accounts, 3 blogs, and 3 FB pages. I just want one. But do these things mix? I’m not sure yet. I’m working on it. If you have any ideas, please share.

Weekly Sunday Post Wrap-up 6/23/19

[image error]This is a blog hop hosted by the Caffeinated Reviewer.

Well, I promised to let you all know how she did. She was in 3 dances that made it to the national dance competition. All three dances received DIAMOND (the judges score them and they’re given gems instead of letter grades. – Diamond is the equivalent to an A!). They also received 2nd and 3rd place, and they received the crowd pleaser award. Overall, I think they did really well. Competition was tough at nationals! At regionals, they won the Regional Championship, so I think they have a lot to be proud of.

This week has pretty much been me lesson planning for next year. I homeschool my children, and we start school back in July. I don’t have much time for planning. LOL!

Books I Read This Week

[image error]This one wasn’t a review book, but just one I felt like reading.

Book that entered my home this week.

Obviously, this one isn’t a review book either. As I mentioned before, I homeschool my children. One of them has dyslexia and one of them has dysgraphia. I thought this may help. In case anyone is wondering, they have graduated from therapies (speech, occupational, vision…etc), but they still struggle at times. I’m hoping this book will help me help them a little more.

Books I’m currently reading
