Volume up – violence is nowhere in parenting!

Believe it or not, we’ve all been there. As a parent you are often so frustrated with your day to day work life and pressure that you want to let out your rage somewhere. And imagine if your kid chooses that time to be very adamant and arrogant! Well, there use it. Yes, you use physical abuse and hit your child. I know I’m sounding a bit hateful and very rude, but that is what the situation actually is. Just because you are a parent and your child is a week individual, doesn’t give you any right to show your strength on a little kid. Remember, you’ll give your entire world to see that kid protected. But what if you yourself are the danger to the child? Who’ll protect this kid then? And that is what a child thinks when a parent hits him/her!
Keeping aside your love for your child, it is even practically and morally wrong to hit another individual just because you can’t bear their pressure or your work life pressure. But since parenting is a huge responsibility and a very delicate matter, we are specially talking about why you shouldn’t use violence against children at any cost. We just hope that you get the message loud and clear and keep your hands off from your kids at any situation, remember any situation.
Reasons to not do use violence against your child!They are not mature — Even if you have a teenage kid, we would recommend you to not to use violence against the kids. Because at the end of the day, they are not as mature as you are. And just put yourself in their shoes and imagine what would such kids think when they are beaten up by their own parents. This brings a sense of insecurity in the child which ultimately becomes a huge psychological problem in the future. And if you are constantly hitting the kid, the child becomes very dominating and tend to consider such action normal. that is when they don’t even react when somebody from outside the circle hits them. Well, we consider this very disappointing situation.
It breaks off your bond with your child — If you think that just because you are hitting the child, you are helping the kid to become a better individual, then we would suggest you to consider this matter once again. This couldn’t be the actual case. Punishing the child through strict ways is entirely different from spanking the kid. If you believe in researchers and surveys, almost 77% of Indian children are hit regularly by their parents. We just hope you aren’t one of them. Because at the end of the day your born between ur child comes in danger because of this physical abuse.
Your guilt is forever— We understand that you hit the child because the kid was being adamant. But remember, your guilt is forever! You just can’t focus on the matters in your hand and the situation worsens than improving.
The after effects are devastating — Do you know that around 40% of the cases recorded of the kids having criminal records and showing inappropriate psychological behaviour during the teenage or adult years is because of the violence they have to bear through their parents in their childhood? Well yes, the scars that come on your child’s skin or face when you hit them may heal after sometime, but the effects are way beyond that.
We know the stats and reasons given above are very depressing. But you need to understand that you have to stop this act. Just because our parents used this method to train us, we shouldn’t follow the suit. Not everything that we inherited from our grandparents is positive. Some other things should be given away with the changing situations. But obviously, you’ll ask for an alternative to manage your fussy child here. So, they these tips for a change!
Be patient and practical — We understand that when you are a parent you are ultimately very patient. Its level is tested each day and moment and you can’t even stress on this matter openly. Phew! But nobody told parenting would be easy! So, try and stretch your patient level some more and be practical with yourself. Remember all these above pointers and stop yourself from hitting the child. We know you can do it!
Try punishing strictly instead — There are at least a dozen ways to punish your child without hitting them. You can limit their television access confiscate their favourite games, mobiles etc. Try your parenting hacks and use those punishment tactics instead. We are sure you would come out with something really very strict and working way to tame them.
Talking always help — There’s no greater solution than talking the things out with your kid! You can sort huge issues by just this single step. So, it is finally the time to sit with your child and have – person to person talk. Know why your child is behaving in such a manner and make the kid understand the results and consequences of such actions.
At the end of the day, each parent’s journey and the way of handling such matter is different. But we really hope that you wouldn’t raise your hand on your kid from now onwards. It’s a gentle request from a parent who is actually guilty of this crime and wouldn’t really want no other mother to be on the same position.

Utilising leftovers – 5 Easy to make quick recipes!

Leftover food is a daily story of every household. And the amount of wastage it causes often is very depressing. And wouldn’t it be awesome if you find a way to utilise them for better? Well, if you don’t want any mess and still require to use this leftover food quickly and turn it into something delicious, then keep reading for some yummy recipes below.

Spicy pulav cutlets — Did your biryani or pulav wasn’t given much respect and it’s now left in good quantity? Don’t worry, you can still have this yummy recipe in a better way. How? Just grind this rice into coarse form, add some salt, pepper, paprika, oregano and coriander in it and shape like cutlets. Now dip these cutlets in beaten egg followed by rolling up in bread crumbs and deep fry. Enjoy with ketchup as a scrumptious snack.

Cheesy chapati pan pizza — Your leftover recipes need not be thrown away now! Just spread some chilli sauce or pizza sauce on it and add finely chopped capsicum, cabbage, grated carrot and cheese! Put it on a pan with low flame for five minutes adding butter in the base. Don’t forget to cover the lid! Serve it after sprinkling some herbs and chill flakes on it! Happy pizza party!

Crispy garlic bread — Bread staying back is pretty Colin a case. So let’s not miss emphasising a quick and crust recipe to utilise it for better. Make some crispy garlic bread of it and enjoy with spicy ketchup as a quick snack or pair it your favourite pasta. Just chop some garlic and add it to melted butter with salt to taste. Coat your bread lavishly with this butter and grate some cheese over it. Now bake it in your oven with 180 degrees of temperature for five minutes and enjoy!

Healthy and yummy creamy salad soup — So, you are probably full already with the salad and it’s still available in excess. You don’t have to throw it away when you can easily make something equally healthy with it. Just boil all these veggies with water, salt as per taste, coriander leaves, ginger garlic paste and one or two whole black pepper seeds. (Plus points if you have mint too!) Now let it stay on medium flame for ten minutes and enjoy after straining the vegetables and pouring some fresh cream over it.

Baked meat macaroni — Often your gravy gets finished and your meat pieces of chicken or mutton or lamb are left behind. So, just recycle it to make something better, richer and delicious. Just boil some macaroni and drain the excess water. Lay this in a microwave or baking dish, place the meat pieces in between the macaroni, sprinkle some salt, pepper, paparika, coriander, oregano, grated veggies and cheese over it. Now bake it for ten minutes in either of the oven and enjoy a palatable meal with your favourite drink!

Slow learning kids – recognise the issue deal and with them wisely!

As a parent you always want your child to be the best from others. Everyone desires a kid who is intelligent beyond the normal IQ level, is super active and very fast in grasping everything you tell the kid. But not all are the lucky ones and not every kid is same. So, even if your kid isn’t having the intellectual level that high, you don’t have to be disappointed. Each kid has his or her speciality and weak points and as a parent you have to be proud of all of these.
Finding out that your child is a slow learner may have come back as a shock to you. But don’t worry, your child’s entirely normal and acceptable. Today, even children with down syndrome are doing great in the academics and other genres of life . So, a kid with slow learning issue shouldn’t be a tension to you at all. Yes, such kids require a special kind of attention and they themselves are constantly facing some problems. You have to help them out in such a difficult phase and accept them happily to ensure that they grow up better and happier.

What exactly is a slow learning child?
Just as the name suggests, a child with the inability to grasp everything faster or as comparatively at a normal level as other kids are slow learning children. Such kids have problems in reading the regular books that kids of their age read. They’ll even complete the milestones a little later as compared to other kids and might even struggle a lot in normal motor activities and speech build up. But overall, their physical progress is normal and many kids do catch up brilliantly after a certain age. But until then, you’ll have to keep in mind these factors while dealing with them.

Provide your child a quite study corner — Children who are slow learners tend to get distracted by even a small issues. So ensure that they have their peace of mind when they are studying. You can provide them a quiet study table and a corner and see to it that nobody is distracting them while they’re paying attention to their studies and activities.

Talk a lot with these kids — It is okay for you to ask a lot of questions to such kids. Since they are slow learners, explaining them everything will take a lot of time. So, you have to be very patient and try to inculcate more knowledge in their minds by talking with them a lot. You can even ask about the insecurities and the problems they face because of lacking and studies another activities. This will help your child cope with the issue better.
Give them small tasks to complete— Children with slow learning problems can’t obviously complete larger task that you assign them. But you have to make them perfect eventually. The best way for this is to provide them with small task which are easy to complete. Slowly and gradually they will climb on higher stages in the course of time.
Don’t label them — The biggest mistake that you commit while dealing with such kids is tagging them with labels. Remember, you don’t have to let them know that they are slow learners. Yes, they have a certain problem which can be easily accessible and if the kids are labelled with this tag, overcoming this issue might be really difficult for them.

Reasons to go for home schooling post pandemic!

I never thought I’d be writing or discussing about this topic ever! I was that mother who had her kids sent to school from the kindergarten stage till tenth without a day’s unnecessary bunk! But today this surge in Covid 19 cases made me wonder. My youngest daughter is eligible for the primary level education as per the Indian system of education and I think it should opt for home schooling for considering the present situation.
If we think in detail, home schooling isn’t a bad option. Actually it’s a fabulous one keeping in mind the utmost safety and proper health of kids during the present coronavirus surge in India. Let’s not forget that a country as highly populated as India will need at least 2/3 years to combat this disease completely. And even though the coronavirus vaccines are available, they aren’t meant for the little kids yet and aren’t suggested to be tried on them.

So, this makes the most important reason to consider the option of home schooling for your kid. I have some more valid ones, let’s see if you agree with me upon these.
The financial crises during pandemic — Let’s accept the fact! The lockdown in India isn’t friendly to the financial condition of the country. We are all striving very hard to meet the ends when business is shut down in the entire nation. Plus, the utility bills and taxes aren’t ceased or decreased either. Amidst all these financial crises during the coronavirus wave in India, tell me how are you going to pay the heavy school fees of the kids? As far as I know the education system haven’t provided any compensation of reduction in the same yet. You have to pay the entire 12 months pay to the school without fail even though your child haven’t visited the institution even for a day during the entire year. That’s where home schooling looks attractive. There are lots of online classes available with minimal fees and innumerable educative videos online that will surely make your child learn more and you pay less!
The online studies aren’t that compatible — Another bitter truth – the teachers of your kid’s school aren’t trained for online sessions yet. So, practically the classes on Zoom or Google meet up aren’t that perfect. Half the time the kid isn’t paying attention to the teacher and during the other half, the teacher is busy trying to adjust herself in the class. But if you are home schooling your child, you know most of the rights and wrongs of this procedure and you are teaching your kid on a one to one basis.
Personal attention counts — Home schooling means more personal attention to the child. If we believe the researches, the children tend to learn and understand a concept better if they are especially taught it. Contrary to your school’s ambience, the child is given lots of personal attention at home and that’s why they learn better. (Not to forget the quality time you get to spend with the kid!)
Practical education— Through home schooling, your child tend to learn practical examples. This counts a lot and the child is already getting passed in the real life exams.
Because safety is important— Don’t you always fear that your child might be attacked or hit when you are sending the kid all the way to school for 6/7 hours? Now, the fear subsides because the kid is with you and you can visualise each and every action of the child.
Let’s not forget that home schooling doesn’t mean to keep an eye on the children all the time. The child requires his/her personal “me time” that you should definitely provide the kid. Apart from it following a systematic timetable and regular schedule for the same is important too. (You just can’t keep nagging the kid to study all day neither can you train child only during some days of the week. Being consistent properly is essential.) As far as the assumptions go, the pandemic is there to stay till 2025. ( approximately) and you just can’t risk your child’s health and safety until then. So, as per the present situation, this stays the best option for parents!

The present situation is serious and we are somewhat locked in our own houses. But the necessary precautions have to be taken and it is very important that you stay indoors at all costs. But since you are at home quarantined, passing your time seems a deadly affair. Even after finishing up the daily chores and working from home you find an ample amount of time of leisure and are probably thinking of how to spend it. Now don’t get frustrated and start with your over thinking and day dreaming during this time. You can utilise your time really well by following the tricks we have just for you.

But the only difference it would be that you can open up your experiences to public and let everyone read what you are saying. Start your own blog now. And you don’t even have to pay hefty sum for this. There are platforms like WordPress and Tumblr where you can write your thoughts for free and let the world read it as well.

Set up a workout schedule — Was fitness always on your wish list and you can never go around because you didn’t have any time? Well, you did get the time now! So you can start with your workout schedule and session and dedicate an hour or so daily for the exercise. There are options like Leels Mills and aerobics coachings available on YouTube and other online platforms. You just have to follow the instructions and fitness wouldn’t be a difficult task for you anymore.

Gardening love — Almost all of us love nature. But due to some problems we always prolong the thought of gardening in our balcony for the later years of our life. So now you don’t have to wait for the retirement age to start your personal garden and look after your lovely flowers. You can do that even now. Get all the necessary items for gardening from an online store . Let your favourite flowers and shrubs bloom in your balcony and watch them grow with love and pride.

Spend time with your family — Didn’t you always longed for the weekend holiday to spend some quality time with your family members? So, God finally provided you the time to pay lots of attention to your kids, husband, siblings and even parents. Don’t let this precious time just flow away by being engrossed in your mobile phones. Spend some time with your children and family and let them know you care. You can play games together, talk about interesting things, try different activities and games and even watch a movie together. Let these moments of leisure be the most special memories of your life.
We know you are dreading this quarantined period a lot. But look at this in a positive way. It is not just a pandemic keeping you locked in your home but it can be a fabulous opportunity to do all that you wished once to do. You can make special moments of your life by being together with your family at home. Why waste this time when you can make it so useful?
