Joy in the Morning

Joy in the Morning

Here is a conversation I had with the emotion joy this morning.

Me: Hi joy, thanks for visiting me, you can put in more of an appearance, can’t you? How about being omnipresent?

Joy: Like all other things in this world, I too like to be valued. I can’t be omnipresent. If I were there won’t be a balance in nature. It takes all kinds to make a world. My compatriots like love, hate, jealousy and the rest have their place in n...

If AI Were To Take Over Completely…

If AI Were To Take Over Completely…

I recently took to posting quite a bit on LinkedIn. I also read plenty of posts there. As can be expected Gen Z seems to be extremely smitten by AI. They argue passionately about its uses. Think of a situation where every aspect of writing is completely taken over by AI. I am talking of a situation where there is no human involvement at all. We just read books written for us by AI. Similarly think of films. Say...

My Morning Walk – A New Beginning

My Morning Walk – A New Beginning

I wake up in the morning,
With a dreamy vision,
Of beautiful Jasmine flowers,
And Begonias and Roses.

I remember the yesteryears,
Of the time when I was a youth of sixteen,
Living in a quaint dreamy colony of Delhi,
Woken by friends, who would yell for me.

For a run in the large park,
Adjacent to our posh colony.
We would all run in joy,
Round the four corners of this park.

I want to stretch my legs,
And run as fas...

My Morning Jog

My Morning Jog

It is a bright and brisk morn,
The sun shining on the horizon, glowing afresh,
Delightfully warm on my skin,
As I jogged steadily along the sandy shore.

Not so warm for some, in body or spirit,
As I was to find out soon.
My eyes fell on a tiny, bedraggled creature,
Who came running up to me.

She kept pace with me and begged for alms,
Her smile more dazzling than the sun,
But I shooed her away with vehemence.
How dare she interrupt my m...

Krithika’s Revenge

Krithika’s Revenge

The streets of Yamuna Nagar were enveloped in palpable darkness. The crescent-shaped moon occasionally peeped out of the horizon through the dark clouds as though it was doing its best to pep things up for the residents of the colony. The croaking of the frogs could be heard as they jumped hither and thither. The stars were completely invisible. It was raining heavily in the posh locality that night. Krithika moved through the s...

An Essay On Illusion

An Essay On Illusion

The word illusion has several connotations and can be viewed from a broad range of perspectives. What exactly does the word mean? It can be a synonym for several things ranging from a layman’s understanding of simple deception to a scientist’s theory of the dual nature of matter. It has meaning in religion, philosophy, and physical form in the sandy deserts of the world as mirages.

Let us consider one of the rarest meanings o...

Soaring Dreams

Soaring Dreams

One day my little one will cruise in the blue sky,
Piloting people through altitudes low and high,
Helping them reach destinations all over the globe,
Flying them to Hongkong, Greece and Rome.

Some day draped in bridal finery, demure and shy,
She will leave us, her parents, bidding goodbye.
We will watch her with sad hearts, but smiling lips.
We will be happy, but have tears in our eyes.

Some days my little one will fly in rough weath...

The Double Murder

The Double Murder

Meena Jennifer looked at herself in the mirror. Her face was smooth except for the two small scars on her right temple. How she wished she could get rid of those! Her memory stirred and she hurriedly put the scars out of her mind. She did not want to remember all that again. She had maintained her body well for her forty-five years. She went to the gym regularly. She was one of the top directors of parallel cinema in Kollywood. Sh...
