Introducing SVT Publishing: "Not the Same Ol' Story for Readers or Writers!"

Introducing SVT Publishing: "Not the Same Ol' Story for Readers or Writers!"

New Orleans, LA – Are readers looking for the unique and the outspoken? Are writers looking for freedom and support? The answer to both questions is a resounding, "Yes!" and author, visionary, and internet radio host Crystal Storm, a.k.a. DCS, is offering the solution to both with her latest venture – SVT Publishing.

"At SVT Publishing we are tired of the 'same ole story' and we want readers to know what they will find here is the best in independent storytelling," said Storm.

Storm first ventured into independent publishing when she self-published the first two books of her science fiction series, The Synarchy Series (which has been described as "The Godfather" meets "Stargate").

"It was a crazy learning experience and really opened my eyes to the reality of the industry. A lot publishing houses aren't in it for writers, they're in it to make money. I want SVT Publishing to be the spot where writers know it's not about the bottom dollar, but it's about the creativity," said Storm. "We've got their backs."

Storm said that in order for readers to find a unique story writers need to have the freedom to create without worrying about mainstream ideas and rejection letters. "I feel like sometimes writers will curb their creativity in order to make sure they're writing something to impress instead of something from pure imagination," she said. "At SVT Publishing we want those unique, 'out there,' genre blending, 'holy cow' type of story ideas. And we're going to provide the support writers need to get those books in front of readers."

SVT Publishing will be open to all genres so long as each story is interesting and unique.

Writer Don Smith, who has authored comic books that have been mentioned on national radio and in The New York Times said he jumped at the chance to work with Storm. "I have been a fan of her radio show and we had become friends," said Smith. "I pitched the idea for my first fictional tale to Crystal and she loved it and we have been hammering out the details since."

Smith said that Storm has been amazing to work with and he is confident SVT will become a home to his work. "Crystal has been itching for this idea for a long time and I knew my new idea –which is still hush-hush – was the right place," said Smith.

Noted comic book publisher Darren Davis, president of Bluewater Comics, praised Storm's endeavor.

"At Bluewater Comics we have found it takes determination and perseverance to be an independent publisher, and Crystal has what it takes," said Davis.

As SVT Publishing gets off the ground, fans and readers can stop by SVTPublishing.com and read unique interviews, opinions and blogs to give readers a taste of what they will experience. The first two books from SVT Publishing – The Synarchy Series – are available for purchase, with two more in the series due out before the end of the year.

"This is just an exciting time," said Storm. "Right now, we just want to get the word out."

When you're ready to read a novel that's never been done quite like this before…

Occupying Together

I should be writing for Darkbrain right now (It's next on the list Andrew!) but I keep having some brain spazes, so! It's time to let them out and share with you.

I had the opportunity to attend the Occupy New Orleans General Assembly this Sunday. There were a little over a hundred people there, and it was an amazing, awesome gathering. It was slow moving, it was messy at times, but it worked. It was a beautiful representation of the challenges and success of a true democratic process. There were conflicting ideals, strong personalities, moments of tension, and overall this incredible sense of solidarity and community. Of purpose. The Ancient Greeks of Athens would have been proud of us, I think. Make no mistake, the process will have to be refined and finessed as the group gets larger, but hey if OCW can do it, so too shall New Orleans, and every other city not just in America, but worldwide (there are now occupy Europe, Berlin, etc fb pages popping up).

It is amusing to me that now as the NYTimes and Washington Post bloggers begin to "cover" the event the criticism is always – what's the message? Who's the leader?

That they ask those questions in my opinion represents the beauty if the movement. Occupy Wall Street means different things to different people, however, the commonality is glaring clear – corporate money rules this country. We see it. We're tired of it. And now, we've decided to do something about it.

This is not a beef with millionaires (not for me anyway). If you've honestly made your fortune, I could care less. More power to you. That's awesome. If you've been buying politicians to rape the Earth, ignore the rights of tribal people, scam the little people, and further operate from a place of profit without responsibility, compassion, or respect for fellow living being (humans, plans, and animals) those are old world thoughts that are no longer accepted.

The devil is in the details as they say, and those details will be different for every city. New Orleans does not have the same needs as New York (for example our march on October 6th begins in front of a prison, a glaring representation for us of both corporate greed and an unjust system. I also suspect we may end up having two occupy base camps, but that's just a speculation, nothing more and I may be proven wrong). Each groups General Assemblies (which I want to hear talked about more in the social news network) is a working, living, breathing, forever changing display of what democracy truly is. Not rule by majority. Not a Constitutional Republic. Real, democracy.

There will never be a sole leader. There will never be the kind of clear demand sheet the Mainstream Media wants. And that is why this movement will succeed; because it is the epitome of the hammer that changed the system and built something new.

Take a second to really let that sink it. Millions of people around the United States, with different backgrounds, and religious views, and political views, all working in solidarity, making consensus decisions, and comprises about day to day living, without the assistance of an "authority figure".

How amazing is that.

Right? Exactly. Rock on.

There is only two tiny little thing I'd like to send out as a caution to the movement worldwide, and that's coming to peace with our part (big or small) in allowing this monster to grow.  More importantly not drawing lines in the sand and adopting an us versus them mentality.

I think that admitting our responsibility by our participation in this system is necessary but it does not nullify they're contribution.  We've all assisted that 1% in getting richer, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to do it. We've all at one point played the game, or ignored it completely, and our compliancy allowed someone else to govern us, make the rules, and create the vision for us.

I think to continue to stand in truth and integrity, something that is so incredibly key for the success of our General Assemblies is extremely important. I don't want to finger point, for me, I want Wall Street to know that we see what we've allowed you to do, and since you won't act right, we're going to take away your power to cause harm.

It is a message that we do not require hand holding, or for you to tell us the vision any longer. We're going to meet and discuss and decided for ourselves how to move forward and right this ship. And eventually you're not going to be a factor in that process. We sincerely hope, you'll change your heart and start doing the right thing. However, the choice is yours.

Finally, I think an us versus them mentality needs to be strayed away from at all costs, and I've seen small traces of it here and there (though not much. It's just something to pay attention too). We just don't want to become the oppressor in a sense. It's that very same mentality that allowed them to keep their control over us for so long. We let them divide us, and they conquered. Simple really.

We don't want to do that. We need to stress that all are welcome, policeman, politician, rich person, poor person, alien, dog, whatever. We have identified something that we think is wrong, and we're trying to fix it. That's it. Bottom line, when you're ready we've got your back.

In the meantime, change is coming. You should in fact expect us. Without fear. Just heart and truth.

Amazing times we're living in aren't they?

-DCS

Walk with me

The number of hits I've gotten on my website within the last week I'm attributing to two things. One, the launch of SVT Publishing, a new indie publishing house on the scene that I'm an author with, and two incoming revolution. On all levels.

I say the later in part because of what's going on the news, and in part because of all the recent searches for the term telementation that has brought people to the mind of dcs. I'm familiar with the term because Jeff Grupp, (the author and researcher whose brought it a bit more mainstream for seekers) was a panel member on one of the round table discussion on my radio show.

There are parallels here. Walk with me. Grupp's Telemenation is not new, few things are. But he does offer (from what I've read from the reviews, I have not read his books) a very good how to on ways to connect with your deeper emotions to affect real change in your life. It's the law of attraction but less about visualizing for stuff and more about feeling your hearts true emotions to get things you want.

I can certainly dig, as I'm sure are others, and the very fact people are curious is an excellent sign. My beef with the law of attraction books was because they appealed to very materialistic tendencies in us, while offering a spiritual practice (which is anything but) as the way to get it.

Back on point – more of us are seeking the change. The outer is the reflection of the inner, and if the inner is evolving, changing, looking for new answers, and its own evolution, so too is the outer. And we can't deny the outer is changing too. Egypt. Greece. Spain. Israel. India. USA.

There's an excellent article up over at the NYTimes.com – As Scorn for Vote Grows, Protests Surge Around the Globe.

Catchy right? It's a good article too. A fair assessment of what's been going down from a journalistic opinion perspective. We're changing. It's happening. The revolution will not be televised, but it will be youtubed, twittered, facebooked, texted, and talked about. Have out noticed that Occupy Wall Street is holding General Assembly's every morning? Do you truly understand how important that is for a real democracy?

It gets better.

The correlation between the spiritual and current events makes me giggle. Seriously, giggle. Just recently over on spirit library, a teacher and seeker Lauren C. Gorgo. put up an article talking about the emergence of the leaders of the new humanity. Basically all you light workers, front liners, visionary revolutionists that are just itching to come out of hiding – your time is now. If you have a light to shine, shine it now. If you have worked, and maneuvered, and repositioned your life because your stupid hearts calling had decided you were no longer allowed to do anything but, your time is now. Tell your story. Speak up. Stand up. Show up. That quote from Marianne Williamson that we love so much? About who are we not to be our magnificent selves? Do that shit. The time, is now.

There's another reason we need it – one of my own speculation. My only beef with the article from the NYTimes wasn't even really a beef, but more a correction I feel like we must make:

"We elect the people's representatives so they can solve our problems,"

The quote is from one of the protestors in India.

We can't do that anymore. We can't elect people with the intent that they will solve our problems. There is a better way of government that we must now embrace, and it requires we all play our parts, and that we assist each other. These are the conversations for our general assembly's and I think they're key: "how do we balance policy with co-creative responsibility?" Because of the very nature of the question it is critical we discuss it and try to answer it standing in our truth and our heart centers.

Speak up. Stand up. Show up. Shine the light. Shine it, shine it, shine it. We gotta have it.

I mean, with all the exciting things we're about to create, why not?

Namaste & Espavo.

Something good out of this mercury retrograde…

This mercury retrograde has been a mutha fucka. But as we're slowly coming to realize, it's not that shit doesn't happen when your all zen and spiritual like, it's just that you can laugh about it easier (or at least sooner than usual because sometimes at the moment of, it's just not funny).

But, regardless of this cycles tendancy to cause shall we say, mischeif in our lives, it has proven for me to be an amazing time of reflection.

Now, admittedly my inner reflection time didn't start in depth until this week. But because the potential for another relationship appeared in my life, it has inspired a lot of random moments of pondering.

I like being a self aware person. I like taking moments to be fully present and quietly inquire about myself. I also like the honesty that I can come at myself with. Don't get me wrong, I'm fairly good at trying to bullshit me, but I'm very patiently persistent in those conversations. I mean look, you know when you're lying. So I'll just keep repeating the questions until I can feel the truth in the answers.

This can be quite a process. My ego is a wonderfully arrogant stubborn mutha fucka. In fact I think I'll give it a name: Crystal's SVT.

Any who, these effen mercury retrogrades are also excellent for revisiting the past. In my case, it was past tendencies. It's a chance for us to take a look at things, and decide what's coming, and what's being left. I had quite a something to get rid of.

So, something for the last few had been quietly nagging at me. Specifically feelings I was having towards a situation. It made me ask those really deep questions like what I felt I was missing? What I was reaching for? Was there some lack I still perceived in myself that I was looking to have filled?

Now it wasn't an all out regression into bad habits, just little things that I sensed would become big things if I didn't start wondering at their source now. My answers, when it finally hit me late yesterday evening left me with a good two hours of this massive heart charka opening that I swear could have made the entire world smile and start hugging. Maybe it did, that would be cool.

And by the way, if you have not yet had one of those moments, omfg do it. It's amazing to feel, no to be that kind of love.

This epiphany was inspired by this question: I know what it feels like to be in love in a completely unbalanced energetic body. Its flashes of bliss coupled with the raging insecurity of the ego. A dangerous mix inside a Scorpio let me tell you.

So I asked myself, well then what does it feel like to in love inside a balanced energetic body? I pondered this deeply for an hour. I'm not even going to lie, I even looked it up on some of the spiritual sites I visit on the internet. As usual, when I need an answer I'm pointed in the right direction.

And the answer was simple: silly girl. Being in love inside a balanced energetic body means you realize, feel, know deeply that no catalyst is required, it's what you very simply are.  Love. Unconditional, pure, love. All the time.

And then I giggled. If you've never had this moment, this utter realization of truth you're going to think I'm a raging lunatic (and I am) having an incredibly sappy moment (also true). And that's fine. I love you for it.

I'm telling you, it was fantastic. I wondered how had I forgotten this? I knew this. And yes, we want connection, not just because we're disconnected from the Source (or God whatever you want to call it) at times, but because our energy fields are craving each other. After being stuck in this illusion for so long, is it not just fucking fantastic when you can be present with someone else who recognizes the illusion too? But that's a side note. It doesn't change the very simple fact  there is nothing to fear. We never lose love. It's not required that we get it back, or be noticed for giving it out. It is very simply, what we are.

A difficult space to hold 24/7 I know. But something worth working towards, and sharing at as many possible moments as we can.

Now I feel like I can step out of this mercury retrograde, moving forward and that I've used the opportunity presented wisely. I feel like I just graduated third grade or something. So! Bring on the next. Bring eeeeet.

How was your retrograde? Please to share.
