Good Things Come to Those Who Wait Just typed the title to the last chapter . . . I did A LOT today -- thousands of words, and even *I* loved the second to last chapter. What an arc! When I started this series more than 15 years ago, it was just a book, an "I can write romances" book, my interested in Medieval Scotland notwithstanding. Only when I revised and reworked the book last year did I see any potential for something more, and here we are at book 3, and I can even see where book 4 can go, and then maybe a book 5 can take us even further.
And sometimes I get angry at myself. Why did I sit on this for over 10 years? Why didn't I try all this years ago? But God or the universe or the back of the turtle or whatever you believe in, works in strange ways. If I was successful at this ten years ago, then the royalties and income would be tied to someone who I cut from my life swiftly and completely and that would have added an unneeded layer of anger and resentment to my writing career. So whenever I start to kick myself for waiting, I remember to congratulate myself for waiting.
Good things come to those who wait. Book 3: The Exile of the Glen should release later this summer!

Day Shift Coming Soon!
Take a sneak peek!
The woman in question reached her hand to his head, running her fingers lightly over his short, ebony hair. Unlike many of the other officers who kept their hair high and tight, Ramon let his hair grow a bit longer, the way Jazzy liked it. Now he was regretting it, as this strange woman worked her spiky fingernails though this waves. He jerked his head back, propelling himself along the driver’s side of his blue sedan. Kaylin gave him a patronizing smile.
“Oh, Officer Garza, since you aren’t in uniform right now, and your shift is over, I thought perhaps we could get to know each other better.”
Holy hell, Ramon’s thoughts twisted as he stared ahead. He thought he made her options pretty clear earlier in the week, but evidently, this woman did not take no for an answer. Time to bring in the big guns.
“Ma’am,” he began.
“Kaylin,” she corrected.
“Ma’am,” Ramon emphasized again, this time holding his left hand like a shield in front of her face, which was still too close to his. “I’m married. I have a family so I am not interested.”
Her lustrous blonde hair shook as she chuckled to herself.
“I can see you're married, Officer. I think that may be part of the problem. You don’t look happy,” she told him, leaning into him. Her purring voice dropped to a husky tone. “Satisfied. Anyone can see you need something more, a big, strong cop like yourself. You put your life on the line every day. You deserve to be rewarded for that.”
Ramon would have to be mindless to miss the suggestive implication of her words. He heard stories of some women coming on strong to cops, but this was far more than he had ever imagined.

Excerpt from Night Shift - Book 1 in the Men in Uniform series! Releasing 4/30! When movie nights went late (as they typically did), Rosemarie still went home if they were at Matthew’s. Although the oversized screen made for great viewing, someone had to be home with Carter. Rosemarie had not taken Matthew up on his offer to bring the dog over. She always invited Matthew to stay with her if the movie night were at her place; at first, he turned her down, feeling it was perhaps too soon or inappropriate. After the third time he tried, she pressed the issue. “Matthew, I don’t feel rushed,” she told him flatly. “I’m not asking you to move in. Hell, I won’t even offer to make you breakfast. But I would like you in bed with me.”
“You were going to offer breakfast?” His eyes widened, feigning devastation. She elbowed him in return. “How about I make breakfast in the morning?” Matthew offered, leaning in closer.
His implication sent surge of excitement flooding through her. She placed her dainty hand behind his neck to pull his face near hers. Her heart thundered against her breast, and she could see that Matthew’s chest heaving in cadence to hers.
