Regina Saskatchewan As a Newcomer

When I was offered a job in Regina, Saskatchewan, I knew my acceptance meant that I would be moving to a smaller city in a Prairie province I knew nothing about as a newcomer to Canada. Well, almost nothing. When I started interviewing for the job, I dug into Google and headed to YouTube hoping for recent insight into what the city was in a more recent note.
Between the YouTube and Quora comments, I might have said ‘Oh hell no’ if I didn’t believe in taking things with a grain of salt.

SAHM to Working Mom After 5 Years

When I got pregnant, I didn’t think transitioning from being a SAHM to working mom would take five years. Back then, I agonized over the job or career that would allow me to stay home with my baby for a good while. It turns out that job was being a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM). Although I didn’t think so at the time, being the stay at home parent is a ‘job.’ That becomes apparent when we realize just how much work it is, and as I also found out when I contemplated going back to work a few years ago,...

I’m Moving to Saskatchewan from Ontario

Yup, you read that right. I’m moving to Saskatchewan from Ontario, where I’ve been living for the last few months: my firsts in Canada. I completed my program last month, and now I’m going off on this new phase of an adventure. I’m nervous, excited and ready for this next chapter. I’m anxious about making another big move, but I’m focusing on the benefits. I took up this opportunity, and although it means a second time in six months, it is better that I am moving now and disturbing my comfort a...

Niagara Falls, Canada in Spring

Since, I’m set to jet off to unknown parts (to you, dear reader) soon, I’ve been taking in a bit of Ontario, including Niagara Falls, Canada. I’ve always wanted to see it, and although I’ve been to the US, I’ve never been to New York to see it there. I haven’t had enough time to explore Ontario the way I would like before leaving since everything happened pretty fast post-graduation, but I did visit the Falls before leaving and I’m glad I did.
This post is mostly pictures from my trips, ...

International Student in Canada: My Experience

In 2021, I decided to go back to school. Unbelievably, its already ended, and I want to share my experience studying as an international student in Canada. As of last month, I am no longer a student. Over the previous eight months, I’ve been engrossed in at least seven courses per semester in a very hands-on program. There were lots of late nights and early mornings spent around the computer all day long; and more group work than I ever hope to encounter all at once.
That said, I thoroug...

Long-Distance Marriage: Making it Work

I am in a long-distance marriage. Of all the things I’ve shared since day one on this blog about my experiences with marriage, you couldn’t have paid me to believe this would be one of them. I’d have thought you to be mad. Perhaps I am the one who is mad. My husband and I have found ourselves in somewhat of an unplanned long-distance marriage since last year (2021). Since then, I’ve experienced a range of emotions on a long spectrum, but none of that changed the fact that this became a necessar...
