Beginner Green Juice Recipe – It’s Good!

These last few weeks, I’ve been feeling a bit off; So I decided to make myself some green juice. Of course, I had to go shopping for the ingredients since they aren’t typically found around my kitchen, (save the fruits). Yea, yea. I know they should be. My husband isn’t big on fruits and vegetables (a bit odd for a physician, no?) and I’m not keen on making more than one meal options. But don’t worry we aren’t short on nutrition or anything.

I pulled up a couple of recipes on Pinterest and...

My Husband Got the COVID Vaccine

Last Saturday, my husband got the first dose of his Covid vaccine. As a healthcare professional, he is on the local priority list and was offered the option. Jamaica’s first shipment of 50,000 doses of vaccines, donated by the Government of India, arrived on March 8, 2021, and another 14,400 expected doses a few days later.

DISCLAIMER: This blog post isn’t intended to influence anyone’s decision regarding the vaccine. Personally speaking, at this point, if you need someone to convince you t...

7 Dinner Hacks for Busy Moms

The post is titled ‘dinner hacks for busy moms’ which would indicate moms as the intended audience, but it’s really for anyone if you make your own meals and have busy weekdays. We can all use a bit of extra help and a short cut or two. I don’t know about you, but spending an hour and thirty-minute plus at the end of a weekday making dinner is not what I live for. In fact, having to do that and not using any of the hacks I am about to share will have me grabbing fast food bags more times than I...

Simple DIY Body Butter Recipe

Two hot seconds after I found out I was pregnant in 2016, one of the first things I did was hop on online that same day and order a block of unrefined, raw Shea Butter to make myself some DIY body butter. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. It was a good thing too. I have a smaller body frame, and before my mid-twenties, was particularly skinny. That, and I have dry skin. It turned out that one of my earlier pregnancy symptoms was also really dry skin. I was truly looking like a lizar...

PhotoWall Canvas Print Review

PhotoWall is a Swedish wall decor company that specializes in decorative wall prints. Prints such as wallpapers and murals, canvas prints, framed prints and posters. I have been deep into making our house a home lately and apart from scents and cleaning, but so far, our only wall decor is from family photos. So when Photowall reached out, I was excited about adding art to our walls. I was (maybe) tempted to get one of our own photos printed on a canvas, but I pushed myself a little to do somet...

6 Travel Essentials for the Family in 2021

When I was packing travel essentials for trip across the island last weekend, I found myself distracted in the middle of packing and needed some time to pull myself together. When I resumed, I thought I was picking up where I left off, but somewhere in between, I packed my four year’s old’s swimsuit bottoms and no the tops. Yikes! Hello, mom fail.

Luckily though, that is the only thing I forgot, but to avoid that happening again I thought I might make a list and share some of the not so com...

Royalton White Sands & Blue Waters Review

My family and I spent a weekend recently at Royalton White Sands and Blue Waters resort to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary. With curfews still in effect on the island, there not much we can still do that we used to do before this monument shift in everyday life, but we can still do hotel stays and enjoy a few days away from the lull and grind.

Checking In

Upon arrival, our temperature is checked and we are sanitized. Our bags are tagged and we were given a ticket and they were...

How to Use Essential Oils for Congestion

As a mom, the power of essential oils for immediate relief of congestion cannot be overstated. At least not for me. My daughter doesn’t get sick very often. Even just a mild case of the sniffles or a cough happens about once a year, and when it happens, I’m on it like white on rice. They usually clear up within a day or two. Maybe it’s a new mom thing, but not my one pop! Not my ‘one good egg’.

Although essential oils are amazing multipurpose oils that can be used for aromatherapy, to tr...

4 Myths About Marriage Debunked

On Valentine’s Day, my husband and I celebrated six years of marriage which got me thinking about some things I can share about marriage as homage; Myths about marriage came to mind. Some things are shared time and again, to the point where people wonder if the pretty rose coloured marriages we see on social media are even possible.

Marriage is an institution as old as time and men. It’s evolved over centuries, but much of the general structure remains intact. Anything this old, is boun...
