The Profits of Takamagahara Monogatari

As Kogitsune has reached 4 years since publication, and Shinigami 3 years, it's time to look back at the costs, royalties and donations of this ongoing series. I don't know if this is common knowledge, but both "Kogitsune" and "Shinigami" have been free on my site since 2020, as a gift to everyone affected by the COVID-19 lockdowns. For the readers who prefer ebook readers or paperbacks, the Takamagahara Monogatari books have remained self-published also via Amazon. Let's have a look at what it means financially.

November TBR: Mythology Webtoons

There’s a special place in my heart for everything related to mythology. I find it very relaxing to read about the life of gods and demigods. When I was very young, my grandma used to read to me stories from an Asian mythology inspired book. When she passed away, I took the book with me.My first ever present was a book inspired by Greek Mythology, a 2 volume series called “The Legends of Olympus” by Alexandru Mitru. I’ve known about Achilles & Patroclus since I was six years old.One of my favorite shows growing up was Stargate SG1 - a SF show with Egyptian gods (who were actually aliens).I’m feeling nostalgic so I’ve decided that during November I’d like to immerse myself fully in mythology retellings of all kinds, manga, webtoons or books. Here are the webtoons that I’ll read in November.

2022: October Wrap-up

In the world of the gods of Takamagahara, October is the month of Kannazuki. During the "Month Without No Gods" eight million Shinto deities leave their mountains, rivers and shrines to join a congregation in the land of Izumo to discuss next year's matchmaking. All except Ebisu, or as he was initially called, Hiruko, the leech child, first born of Izanami and Izanagi, because he's deaf and doesn't hear the summon. When there are no gods to protect the land, the demons roam free, and for years, there was only Hiruko remaining to protect the humans from evil.On the other side of the globe, there's Halloween. Here is my wrap-up for October for TBRs, writing goals and bookish shopping.

The Prologue to “Fields of Higanbana”

I always wanted to celebrate Halloween when I was young.Halloween’s not a Romanian celebration, but the younger generations started embracing it in recent years and enjoy playing spooky dress up at the end of October. But there’s no “trick or treating”. Our sort of “trick-or-treat” event takes place during Christmas, on the 23rd of December (on my birthday). Children knock at your door, they ask, “Will you receive our carol?”, you say “Yes!” because (you’re not a monster) it’s tradition, and then they sing. When they finish, you offer them treats (apples, oranges, Romanian pretzels, optional anything else sweet). One of my favorite celebrations.Coming back to this Halloween, thank you for allowing me to celebrate with you with a gift, the first part of the prologue of Fields of Higanbana (Shinigami’s sequel).

2020 Year in Review

This year was a f**k trumpet, knobhead, dickweasel tw*t of a year, and may the thunderc**t piss off into oblivion at the strike of midnight, never to be seen again. And I’m only saying this because I’m a lady. I started January with a plan to complete a 52 books reading challenge, but unfortunately life,…
