A barbegazi perspective

When I first had the idea for THE MISSING BARBEGAZI, I had never heard of a barbegazi. The story I began to write was the story of an eleven-year-old girl, Tessa, who wanted to win a ski race. A story set entirely in the real world, dealing with real world problems. No magic. No mythical creatures.

Book launch in Singapore

THE MISSING BARBEGAZI was launched at the National Library of Singapore in September 2018 in connection with the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC).

Sarah Odedina, my editor at Pushkin Press, and I spoke about the editing process for the book as part of the AFCC. The launch event was moderated by Denise Tan, author champion extraordinaire and bookseller at Closetful of Books. It was a wonderful event with lots of friends and an enormous (and delicious) book-shaped...
