“LET’S BE  MAD TONIGHT”

Look what I got from the stolen moments, which visited me today!

Those were the ones when I, went to have a tattoo of your name.

You were with me to see your name on my chest.

I was all set to get, the needles were just a few inches away from my chest

but you stopped the artist, and we looked at your face.

The curve of your lips,

suggested for a different one

and you said “we’ll get a jigsaw puzzle tattoo.

We both agreed to get this one after a cosy fight.

Your eyes were on mine,

mine was on you.

We were lost in ourselves

so much that we didn’t even felt the pain

of the piercing needles.

We came back,

celebrated that night

For our first Tattoo.

With cognac.

After few drinks,

Our lips met

Your kisses were slow,

yet passionate,

mine was intense and deep

our hearts paced

and, you’re wild fingers

scratched my back

I gripped you from the curves

you bit my lobes whispered in a tipsy voice

“LET’S BE  MAD TONIGHT”

We were on fire

In the flickering flames of desires,

Our bodies were melting inch by inch

We were moving towards the panacea.

Climbed to that height

Lost ourselves in the stars

We hadn’t held back ourselves

Flew with passion of the entwined desires

To the magical land of love.

Hearts paced, sweats intermixed

We were dazed and exhausted, slept in each other’s arm.

But, in the morning, you drifted away

never to show up again

my all calls went in vain

I don’t know about you but, my heart stole your

fragrance and the moments when we become one.

Once again! Today.

My heart took me to the Eden of memories.

Alleys…. Her Alleys

As I landed in my hometown, a known smell engulfed me and, I took a deep breath to inhale that smell which, had her smell and opened my arms to embrace her, but she was not there to embrace me back. People there at the airport gave me a strange look, but, I was not there to care about them. where was I?

I was in the world of memories, my eyes were half closed, her name was echoing there.

You can go far from the places where you live but, you can never past the memories, like a shadow they go with you wherever you go, and when the memories of your loving someone tickles, it gives you a feeling which can’t be expressed, that feeling is beyond the capacity of spoken words.

coming back to senses after some while, I slowly opened my eyes. coming out of the airport I took a taxi and reached that place which was my home once, yes! once.

My eyes were searching for that narrow alley where she too lived once, like I did.

again, I was back to the alleys. Her Alleys

Prolouge

“I’ll call you this Sunday,” I said to her, But, I hadn’t called her, nor that Sunday neither after any following Sundays. Days and month disappeared in the blink of an eye before I could realize eight summers were passed already.

When I look back to the alleys of my life, all I found is her memories scattered around and chiselled in every moment of my life. She is there with that smile which took away myself from me and after her now, I am like that branchless leaf which is tossed to roam in the air, aloof and clueless.

All my efforts to forget her never succeeded. She wasn’t my dream, she was that reality which happened to me when I was on the threshold of youth and now when I am 34 she still lingers in my life and is with me all the time not physically but superficially.

She was better than the coffee in the winters, soothing than the rains in summer and she is my life and if truth to be told she is the only one for whom my heart beats.

Without her, this story never could be completed. Though this is my story, she has written it. She was that dance of ecstasy, which even today moves me.

How could I describe her? Understanding her was never easy for me, not then and not even now.

Like her name, she was crazy, mysterious, unusual and full of life. She loved herself more than anyone in life, in a moment she would unleash her anger at small things and in next moment she was back in her euphoric mood sometimes she behaved like nothing had happened, and within moments she behaved like doomsday is about to come.

She often made me do the things which I would never do normally but she never cared for that, as she always won me by her smiles and her neon blue eyes.

To cut long story short in a word, she was an invited trouble of my life. Yes! I invited that trouble with roses and petals, I was not knowing then, the invitation would turn me, my life upside down.

God had given many signals to part my ways from her. But, her magic worked, and I avoided all those signals. I never looked anything else when she was around.

Loving her, was like inviting a tigress for lunch. I knew the tigress would eat me one day. Still, my temptation to invite her won my intellect and she left me half dead, not for once but twice.

She was not wrong when she said, “I will change you forever”.

Some combinations are rare; a  perfect blend of individuality.

The sky and the stars are wonderful even alone.

But, once they come together

they become more magical.

We are such a combination.

Ours is not that honey laced romantic tale, it is a bittersweet story of love, hate, longingness and endless wait.

I don’t know this wait will over or not, but this endless wait has its own charm

there is a solace in pain,

let me be on this journey,

I don’t want to stop.

Feelings…..

It was a usual day, just like other days in Abhi’s life. Mystery is always shrouded in normalcy, unaware of that, toady Abhi was getting ready for his college, and was quite eager to reach on time, no, not to attend the  lectures, but to give lecture, As a lecturer of English, he was quite popular among his students, but as of now he got a new assignment, to teach in a girl’s college, deep within he was somewhat tensed, how would be the college ? how would be the students? these questions were roaming in his mind, but he decided to face like always with a beaming smile.

he reached to his class on time and introduced himself.

“Hi, folks I am Abhishek, Your new lecturer for English”.

“Good Morning Sir”. Girls said in unison.

“Hmm, before starting today’s lecture, let’s play a game,” he said.

“Which game sir” a voice came.

“Your name”? he bounced back the question to the asker.

“Siya” reply came.

“Siya, this game is the game of words, I’ll write a word on the board and you all have to write about 50 words about it, Simple”. Abhi smiled.

He took the marker and wrote in bold and big letters.

FEELINGS.

“So, girls, you have fifteen minutes to write what you think about this word”. he said.

All the girls start mumbling with each other, the lecture hall became livid with the noise, but Abhi decided to subdue the noise and said. “No whispers, please write exactly what you feel, and yes, once it is done, come here and read it aloud.

Fifteen minutes passed, he adjusted his glasses and stole a sideway glace and stood up.

“Time up, girls”. He said in the playful voice.

He quickly scanned the class and signaled a girl to come up.

“Your name,” he asked.

“Zuni” She replied.

So, Zuni, read what you’ve written about the word. he instructed in a calm tone to her.

Now, all the eyes were on Zuni, she gasped breath and started to read.

“Feelings is what we are made of,

sometimes sad, sometimes happy,

sometimes bewildered is what we are.

feelings give us memories to cherish,

I can’t tell you, what I feel when I think of you,

O, my mother, you are the one who gave me birth.

for you O my papa, the best man in my life

I always amaze, when I think of my sister.

my feelings are for you all whom  I love

is just expressed in two words,

THANK YOU.

“Wow, amazing, it is simply cool and great”, Abhi was smiling.

Zuni nodded and took her seat.

A Hundred eyes turned to her, some in envy, some in proud but Abhi knew what he had found.

soon the bell rang and the class was over, Abhi bid bye to class and went to the canteen to take some bites.

Zuni followed him to the canteen

“Thank you, sir, once again”.

“You’re welcome, come join me” Abhi offered.

and stood up and dragged a chair for her.

She said, “No sir, may be some other day, anyways thanks for your offer, I wish I could join you”. she said in a sad tone and took her leave.

Abhi looked her going and a smile came to his lips.

he remembered his college days when Priya exactly did the same.

He took out his journal and wrote,

Best feeling is what when something is left unsaid,

it keeps the hopes alive.

Abhi finished his bite and headed towards a library mumbling a song….

and then his eyes met with Zuni…..

there was an excuse in her eyes and in eyes of Abhi, there was a hope.

hope, of finding someone who understands what the feeling means.
