“Talus” Review Roundup – 6
Financial Times –review byJames Lovegrove
A wonderful mash-up of genres, fusing a proper, well-plotted detective yarn with prehistoric blood and thunder pulp fiction action. Talus, who combines the cerebral prowess of Sherlock Holmes with the physicality of Conan the Barbarian, is a strong, well-rounded character who could easily support a long-running series of adventures.

The Great Cinefex Dragon Smackdown
Dragons are taking over the world.
Well, that’s how it seems to me. With Game of Thrones dominating the TV schedules, and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug just out on Blu-ray, it’s a wonder we haven’t all been burned to a crisp.
All these dragons set me off asking a whole bunch of questions. For example, both GoT and The Hobbit are adapted from best-selling novels, so just how close have the visual effects artists come to accurately portraying the dragons as they were originally written?
Anot...

Before I turn my attention to mynext project, I feelall of you who’ve stuck with me through this odyssey deserve some kind of closure. SoIproudlypresent an interview I recently conducted with the ghostwriter himself … uh, that’s me, by the way.

“Mad God 2″ by Phil Tippett on Kickstarter
He animated the Imperial Walkers in The Empire Strikes Back. He supervised the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park. He brutally maimed one hell of a lot of Starship Troopers in, uh, Starship Troopers.
He’s legendary animator Phil Tippett, and he’s about to descend once more into the bowels of the unconscious, as he gears up to make the second part of his gloriously gruesome stop-motion odyssey Mad God.
The Kickstarter campaign for Mad God 2 has just launched. You can become a backer for as little as $1....

“Talus” Review Roundup – 5
Talus and the Frozen Kingis now available everywhere, and the reviews keep rolling in…
SFF World review byRob H Bedford
Edwards works with a very straight-forward mystery structure, murder, investigation, solution, but what happens between those pillars of the structure make for a very entertaining read. All told, Talus and the Frozen King was an extremely enjoyable novel, Edwards kept me turning the pages at a very rapid pace. I liked Talus and Bran quite a bit and very much hope Edwards has mo...

Ghostwriter Diaries 26 – Completion!
The manuscript is complete. Yes, four months after starting, and one day early, I’ve finished the fantasy novel I’ve been ghostwriting. All that remains is to composean email to my client, attach the manuscriptand click Send. Do I feel good about that?
What do you think?
Today’s final session has been almost entirely a pleasure. My anticipated hike to the summit of thisghostwriting mountain turned out to be more of a stroll in the sunshine – almost literally, as I’ve bee...

Stonehenge Neolithic Houses
I’m interested in ancient history, ancient technologies, ancient civilisations and, well, ancient anything really. That’s why I follow a rather wonderful blog called Stonehenge Neolithic Houses.
The blog is chronicling the building of a group of late Neolithic dwellings outside the new visitor centre at the world’s most famous prehistoric monument: Stonehenge. The houses – constructed using local materials and ancient techniques – are the work of the Ancient Technology Centre, supported by Eng...

Ghostwriter Diaries 24
THREE days until submission!I haven’t quite reached the peak of this ghostwriting mountain, but I have completed most of the final ascent. The steep slopes are behindme. All that remains aheadis a short trek upthe lastridgethat ascends steadily to the summit. It doesn’t look too arduous, but the ledges are precarious and it’s a long way down. There are still plenty of opportunitiesto fall.
To put it another way, I’ve just finished working through all the editorial comments on the MS of the nove...
