Bard & Barbarian

Updated! Bard & Barbarian has updated over on my Patreon with Ch64: “Empty Hours,” because much of the life of an adventurer boils down to waiting for something to happen. ::twinkle::

Coop 005: Behind the Hedgerow
Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in a certain boy’s adventures because the Amaranthine Saga & Songs are mine. Please continue to indulge the lot of us, especially the one with an alter ego.

Behind the Hedgerow
People in Pine Hall didn’t know that Drew Hunter, local lawyer, was actually Daroo-fen Clearsong, an Amaranthine from the wolf clans. Coop had overheard enough to know that Daroo wasn’t planning to announce the truth.
Coop pulled the...

Family Pet
Coop kind of wanted to point out that her idea had been his first. Hadn’t he been the one to give Dad a wolf for Father’s Day? But it wasn’t a bad idea. Puppies were cute.
“Uh-oh. We took too long.” Coop nodded toward the wolf posted at the end o...

Bard & Barbarian

Narrated Edition. Bard and Barbarian has been posting slow and steady over on my Patreon account. Reading along is great, but supporters on some tiers can now listen along. The story is being narrated by Travis Baldree. Ch55, “Priorities” just went live for those in qualifying tiers. AND Ch51, “Failsafe” has unlocked for the Twinkle and Sparkle tiers.

New narrated chapters will arrive every other Wednesday, which means … there’s always something more to look forward to! Learn more abou...

Ours for Sure
Coop sat down on the curb and tugged at the ponytail he’d been working on since last Dichotomy Day. It took a while, but Coop finally decided that he’d never thought of Daroo as his other dad. Daroo was Dad’s wolf.
That meant pac...

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in a certain boy’s adventures because the Amaranthine Saga & Songs are mine. Please continue to indulge the lot of us, especially the one who does good.

Daddies’ Girl
Coop switched his hold so he could walk backward. “Doing good?”
“I was just thinking.” Rose opened big brown eyes. “It’s almost Father’s Day.”
“You’re right. Guess we need a plan.”
She squirmed into a receptive posture and asked, “What a...

Monthly Mailing
Perks of Patronage. For the month of June, I’ll be sending out the balance of a big book swag order. Last month, patrons at the appropriate tier received cover art for Interludes 1 & 2, and this month, you can add Interludes 3 & 4 to your collections. If you love snail mail, go take a look at what’s offered at each tier on my patreon. And don’t forget, we’re counting down to Kimiko and the Cycle of Moons, which will see it’s first chapter posting this fall! Lots of reasons to support my stories ...

Coop and the Elderbough Trackers

He always liked running wild. Now, he runs with wolves.
Cole Pfeiffer-Cooper, who prefers to be called Coop, became part of a pack way before the world found out about the Amaranthine. He was eight when his family took in Daroo-fen Clearsong, so by the time the Emergence was breaking news, he’d already learned plenty of wolf knots, hunting signs, and other kinds of non-verbal communication. That’s why it was pretty lucky that Coop was the one to find a group of wounded trackers fleeing from a...

Release Day Festivities
LMM. I don’t usually do much on release days, since I’m a homebody & I’m usually up to my twinkles in “next things.” But yesterday was a happy exception, and the day was crowned by a trip into a fancy little gelato shop. Their flavors change daily, so I was especially pleased to find Jacques’ personal favorite amidst their offerings.

. . .

. . .
It’s kinda funny, because just last week, we were out-and-about and followed a billboard advertisement to a creamery, wher...

LMM: Complete
Lord Mettlebright’s Man. While chapters have been free to read since we began Jacques’ story back in 2018, with the move to publish (digital, print, and audio editions), I won’t be posting any more of the story here on the blog. To read the remainder (there are 700 chapters in total), grab a copy of the finished edition. It’s mostly intact. (I did some gentle edits to banish awkward Inktober prompts & to tweak some little contradictions.)

Abundant thanks to those who suggested p...
