Songs of the Amaranthine, #2
Songs of the Amaranthine is a collection of short stories set in Forthright’s Amaranthine universe. Before the Emergence, the clans were nothing more than whispers and mysteries and legends and lore. But every so often—in out-of-the-way places or shockingly close to home—an unsuspecting person stumbled into a fateful encounter with someone who was decidedly other. An eclectic collection, spanning continents and centuries. Tales of adventure, discovery, friendship, rescue, belonging, and love....

Mood Stripes 080: Comparable
Disclaimer: I do hereby disclaim all rights and responsibilities for the characters in this audacious adventure… especially for the respected one. A nod of recognition is bent towards Rumiko Takahashi for her creative prowess.
Chapter 80: Comparable
The miko was almost too attentive. However, she spoke with respect, never took pity, and assumed he would regain his former strength. The very sort of thing Jaken had been extraordinarily good at—believing in him.
“Oi.” Inuyasha sat beside Sessho...

Spotted
Details will always win my heart. In a certain city, at a certain mall, there is a fountain rimmed in botanical mosaics (and identifying plaques). So even though I was out-and-about all day yesterday, my thoughts were taken up by the stories waiting for me at home. ::twinkle::

Gossipy Tidbits
It gets quiet around here when I’m “between books.” Tamiko and the Two Janitors doesn’t release until summer, but stuff is happening behind the scenes. For instance:
The next Songs of the Amaranthine story is due to be revealed in a fortnight (give or take), so you’ll have that to look forward to. Oncoming teasers expected. Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox will be coming out in audio format on February 26. Travis Baldree has gone above and beyond to match his voice to the cast in my head, and I’...Mood Stripes 079: Unaffected

Chapter 79: Unaffected
“No.”
“This one?”
“No.”
Emotions weren’t easy to pin down—they mixed, wavered, and conflicted. Kagome never would’ve believed Sesshoumaru capable of emotional complexity, simply because she couldn’t see how he was affected.
“Too sweet?” Kagome stu...

Kith, Kin, and Crosser
“Adorable, is he not?”
Eloquence nearly laughed, for Tenma seemed confused over which person Lapis found adorable: Laud, Ever, or Rise. And in finding equal appeal in all of Quen’s denmates—Kith, Kin, and crosser—Tenma earned a greater measure of trust on all sides.

Let’s add a missing piece to the portrait of Eloquence and Ever. FoxOfTwilight was kind enough to give Rise his proper place.

Spicy Peas
Peas and Thank you. I still have several photo-worthy (and tasty) snacks of the convenience store variety. They’re just the sort of thing Kimiko might reach for (at least once). ::twinkle::

Mood Stripes 078: Essential
Disclaimer: I do hereby disclaim all rights and responsibilities for the characters in this audacious adventure… especially for the analytical one. A nod of recognition is bent towards Rumiko Takahashi for her creative prowess.
Chapter 78: Essential
Kagome knew she was unwanted, but she didn’t give Sesshoumaru the chance to dismiss her. “We should check the samples!”
The blue paled to an iciness approaching white.
“Shampoo,” she clarified.
“Hnn.” Color flooded back into his stripes, settling...

Mood Stripes 077: Recuperative
Disclaimer: I do hereby disclaim all rights and responsibilities for the characters in this audacious adventure… especially for those put at ease. A nod of recognition is bent towards Rumiko Takahashi for her creative prowess.
Chapter 77: Recuperative
Both looked embarrassed, so Kagome did what worked with Souta—pretended not to see.
That Kohaku’s eyes were puffy.
That Sesshoumaru was holding him.
That her arrival had brought a dismal green to his stripes.
Embarrassment left them surprisingly...
