Bahrain's Al Dar Island
I still find it baffling that I live on an island but have a difficult time finding a beach to go to. Or rather, a beach that isn’t covered in garbage with plastic trash bobbing by me as I “relax” in the water with my kids. Hate to say it, but it’s true. And the worst part is that, unlike Egypt, where trash cans were almost non-existent, they are actually present here. And yet people still throw their trash on the ground, or leave it for the waves to carry off. Disgraceful and disgusting.

Sound & Lights at the Bahrain Fort
On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Tuesday nights, you can now partake in a special sound and light show at the Bahrain Fort.
For thirty minutes, you can be whisked away into the history of Bahrain and the Qal'at al-Bahrain (fort), from Gilgamesh through the Portuguese up until the present.

Visiting the Bahraini Farmers Market
From early December to early April the Budaiya Farmers Market is the place to be on Saturday mornings. However, if you don’t like crowds, try to get there before 9:00 a.m., when the rest of Bahrain shows up.

10 Lessons My Three-Year-Olds Have Taught Me
Having two three-year-olds is kind of like living with capuchins; or at least I assume it is. There is a lot of noise, constant chatter, leaping off furniture, shrill shrieking, banana peels all over the place, and once in a while a little poop flinging.
But between the hugs and the tantrums, the cuddles and the meltdowns, these littles have taught me a thing or two.
1. No matter how “unbreakable” the claims on the toy or dishware are, everything is breakable. And they can prove it.
2. ...

Self-Publishing Panic
Throughout this self-publishing process, I’ve had a few bumps and hurdles. But it wasn’t until recently that I could actually say I had my first full-blown self-publishing panic attack.
With my children's book slated to come out in June, I told myself that come January I would start reading all the marketing materials I had been collecting. I started with a blog post about preparing for your book launch. Seemed like the perfect spot. It had a dozen links, all of which gave me more informa...
