Library and Archives Canada Out-of-Copyright Image Challenge
So, my most popular posts have been the archival images I posted from the Library and Archives Canada image database (here: http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/lac-bac/search/images). I love poking around in image databases, and I'm going to post more. But I need keywords to start with. Send me keywords-general enough so I'll get a lot of hits-and I'll search the database (it contains photographs, illustrations, technical drawings, graphic art, videos, images of textual documents, and more) and choose images to post for at least a week—let's say from a week until I get bored. I think I mentioned it before—I lived and breathed this database when I was a photo researcher on Canadian historical books. And it's been much improved since back in the day!
I'll start with my own keywords, and first up "hockey." Predictable? Let us see.
The images I'll use aren't all strictly public domain, but some have been assigned "no restrictions on use" by the Library and Archives, which owns the copyright.
