Welcome to the Blanket Fort

I’ve worn many hats over the years, including a few years where I worked as a podcast producer. I can tell you everything you never wanted to know about the minutiae of scheduling, recording and distributing podcasts. But I’ve never actually been on a podcast myself.

Until now!

Big thanks to Liz Silver for having me on Welcome to the Blanket Fort! We talked everything from books to street dogs to why I’m not allowed at pub trivia nights in Barrie Ontario anymore. Give it a listen!

Indie Author Day 2022

True story: I never set out to be the CEO of my own tiny publishing empire, but 4+ years later, here we are. Being an indie author is awesome and awful and connecting with other amazing authors is part of what makes it awesome. Things like writing in a shared series or chatting on panels are a ton of fun. You know what’s even better??

Chatting on a panel about a shared series!!!

This Saturday, November 5 is Indie Author Day at I Read Indies. It’s an all-day event where some sapphic fiction authors share their insights, do some readings, and give away some fun stuff. At 11 am Eastern, I’ll be talking with Kiernan Kelly and BA Tortuga about Summit Springs. I hope you’ll join us.

Wanna come? Registration is here.

Hitch a Ride to Summit Springs

There’s something so fun about a shared series. I love collaborating with new authors and seeing how quickly a little town can grow from an idea all the way to bustling place full of people with busy lives.

In July, I got invited to join the team of authors writing a new series set in Summit Springs, a fictional mountain town in Colorado. Small town romance is where my authorly journey began, and this series promises non-stop sapphic shenanigans, so how could I say no?

My installment in the Summit Springs series, Destination Bedding, comes out in January, but the series launches in Kindle Unlimited in just over a week, starting on September 13. You can find all the release days below, and join our Facebook group to connect with the authors and other readers who love this town as much as we do!

High Side, by Julia Talbot, coming September 13

Tipping the Barrel, by BA Tortuga, coming September 27

Top of the World, by Jodi Payne, coming October 11

Heart Space, by Katey Hawthorne & JA Rock, coming October 25

Chainsaw Hearts, by Kiernan Kelly, coming November 8

Broken Chains, by Siobhan Muir, coming November 22

Lifting Laurel, by Michelle Frost, coming December 6

Christmas Bizarre, by BA Tortuga & Jodi Payne, coming December 20

Destination Bedding, by Allison Temple (that’s me!!), coming January 17

Wildflower Muse, by Pandora Pine, coming January 31

Tourist Trap, by Kim Katil, coming February 14

Roots and Sky, by Kelly Fox, coming February 28

The Smackdown in Gingertown

Tomorrow, January 12, is Kiss a Ginger Day!

Gingers are their own kind of special. Whether you want to talk about recessive genes or whether your red-headed cousin really does have a soul, there’s all sorts of things that are special about gingers. So it should be no surprise that I’ve written my fair share of ginger heroes including:

Avery from Hot Potato

Gordo from Boyfriend With Benefits

Jack from Up North

Last year, author Brigham Vaughn and I realized too late that we had missed a valuable promo opportunity in Kiss a Ginger Day, since she had just as many redheaded heroes as I do. We made a note to revisit it at the end of the year and set up a tournament to determine which ginger was the greatest ginger of them all.

Then it got bigger.

Starting tomorrow, 16 authors and their heroes step into the ring. Only one will come out. It’s time to lay down a smackdown and determine which ginger will rule them all.

If you love a carrot top or a copper-curled cutie, maybe you’ll join us?

Uncharted is a Rainbow Award Runner Up!

Well it’s definitely been quite a year. From launching into a new genre, to releasing my first audiobook, to watching Uncharted hold steady in the top 100 of LGBTQ+ fantasy list on Amazon, it’s been an amazing adventure. And now Uncharted has been recognized as one of the best lesbian fantasies of 2020-2021 Rainbow Awards!

Complete list of winners here. Making the Honorable Mention list was pretty cool. Being named a runner up is awesome. This book has been special since I breathlessly wrote the first scenes in 2018, but I’m just so delighted at how many people out there have recognized its spark.

Haven’t read it? Time to get on it! Uncharted is on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited, or you can listen to the audiobook on Audible. Get it before Unbroken is released next year!
