My First Ebook Giveaway!
It's officially 27 days before my first book goes LIVE and I'm giving away 10 ebook copies!
It's kind of like jumping off a cliff knowing there is a deep pool of cool, clear water at the bottom and you just freaking go for it.
This isn't the first cliff I've jumped from. I've jumped before. Each jump has been from a different cliff into a different pool. I've never really worried though. I've prepared, done my research, created the best product I could, and have always been happy with the landing.
Maybe it's still too far away for me to feel the nervous jitters yet.
Still, I'm grabbing the hands of 10 other people and sprinting with them toward that cliff and hoping they'll take the jump with me!

Just Another Lesson I've Learned
Frustration.
Yep.
I'm getting an unusually high does of the stuff lately.
Taking a break from 'formatting hell', I wanted to set up my first ebook giveaway. Normally, that would be a big YAY all around since people love FREE books, and yeah, I'm (planning on) giving away a few.
Anyway, I was moving right along, until I hit a snag and had to find the ASIN.
(ASIN? What the bloody heck is an ASIN?)
Well, come to find out, it's one of those numbers your book is assigned through Amazon. FOUND IT!
Goodreads asks me to fill out my book info, something I know I've done before because Kiss of the Winter Moon is already on Goodreads, but hey, if that's what I gotta do.
I now have two copies of my book on Goodreads. TWO.
Well...that wasn't supposed to happen.
*shakes head and clicks 'help'*

Error? Seriously?
Yesterday was a hurry-up-and-wait day. Good thing I'd already designated it as a 'no writing' day, because yeah, no writing was done.
Oh, wait, I did write a small blog post while all the waiting was going on, and I did send a few texts to a friend venting my frustration on the ERROR message that kept popping up. But that's all...I think.
So, since it was a 'no writing' day, I had the time to work the problem. How to format my Word DOC using a KDP template. So, I cheered myself on...
I can do this!
I have the focus, the patience, and the time. I mean, I'm a writer, a mom and a wife. I've got bucket-loads of patience.
Hahaha...

Hours later... and I do mean freaking HOURS LATER...
Ultimate failure.
Well, maybe not 'ultimate'. My title page, copy write page, dedication and acknowledgement pages are AWESOME. *giggles and wipes tears*
Anyway, I won't leave it there. Nope, I'm back at this formatting thing and I WILL DO IT. And take notes.
Wish me luck.

The Waiting is Brutal
So, I'm sitting here anxiously watching the little icon spin while Kindle Direct Publishing prepares the PRINT BOOK preview of Kiss of the Winter Moon! Yes, I'm excited, but this waiting, waiting, waiting is freaking brutal.
And then there's the other waiting...just a little more than 30 days left before the release of my first book. Yep, I'll say that again...in big bold upper case letters...MY FIRST BOOK...on February 20th. I just can't even, and I'm sure that little phrase has been way overused but really, I just can't even.
When I first started writing this series, publication was something so far off on the horizon, it was almost a joke. Now, it's so close, and coming at me so fast, it's a little mind-blowing.

The Long, Long Road
It's done! Finally!
Kiss of the Winter Moon has been a serious labor of love. I've been working on the Sakana Series since 2011. A little-known tidbit here... this was not supposed to be the first book in the series. I was busy writing the 'first' book when my husband and I took off on vacation... hours on the road later, we drove through a little town in Texas named 'Comfort'.
Comfort was perfect. A nice quiet little town in the middle-of-nowhere had to be hiding one of my shifter packs. I pulled out my little pad of paper and started jotting down plot notes. The next 2 weeks, I wrote like crazy and realized through all that writing, Kiss of the Winter Moon would be my first in the series.
And it definitely is not the last!
Book 2 in the Sakana Series, Shadow of the Summer Moon will be released this summer!
