142 - Joy Exercise that Releases the Diamonds Within Us

After listening Gita Saraydarian's lectures on Petrification and Transformation of the Aura, it became blatantly clear that the book Joy and Healing must be studied over and over again.  Gita said "when it gets too tattered to read, buy another one and start over!"

The first recommended exercise is to remember a joy that you experienced in the earliest part of your life.  Go back in your mind and try to find a moment of joy as early as possible.

What is the "why" behind this exercise?  Page 29 in Joy and Healing it states that "every true experience of joy which was locked in our auras in the past can be released through exercises and the flow of joy energy can be used to uplift ourselves, to create integration, alignment and harmony and even to eliminate many disturbances in our natures."

I remember as a toddler on Sunday mornings, my Mom would get me all dressed up. I would walk out into our living room and my Dad would lovingly tell me how beautiful I was. I felt his love and admiration for my little being.  He was not the gushy type and the words were not what I remember. It was the authentic love he expressed that has given me confidence to this very day.  Oh what a joy to remember!

What are your early experiences of Joy?

141 - Christmas Eve is a Night To Make Strong Decisions

In the book Teachings of Christ, Vol. 1, Chapter 17  by Torkom Saraydarian, we read that "the real Christmas Eve is the night in which you make strong decisions.  You turn in your path, sometimes 180 degrees.  You reverse your gear, you start thinking of your future -- not your future here on earth but all the eternities that you are going to live."

What did you do this last 365 days?  This is the time to contemplate "Why am I here?"  Torkom writes about the three disciplines that are important to consider in making strong decisions:

The first discipline is I Renounce.  What are you willing to renounce?  Impatience? Vanities? Separatism? Gossip?

The second discipline is Purification.  How might you purify your motives?  Your physical body?  Your physical house?  Your emotional house?

The third discipline is to make Contact with Christ.  In making contact with Christ in one second He will purify all your motives.  Inspiration will flow.  Ideas and visions open continuously.  You will be charged with radioactive energy and magnetism.  You will only think, say, buy and relate to what is essential.  How beautiful!

In the beautiful book Christ, the Avatar of Sacrificial Love  pp. 249-253 you will find a meditation for contacting the Christ. If you do not have the book, sit down for a 10 minute quiet period and meditate on what it means to renounce, purify, and what it may mean to you to contact the Christ. What would you say to Christ if you came into contact with Him?

The energy of Christ increases on Christmas Eve.  Where will you spend your Christmas Eve?  With whom?  Doing what?  You decide.

140 - Sagittarian sign is called the sign of silence

Quoting from Symphony of Zodiac --

"The Sagittarian sign in olden times and in the mystery schools was called the sign of silence.  Three most important signs of silence are first the elimination of gossip.  We learn to gossip from our radios, televisions and movies.  Sagittarian says, 'No gossip!' because if there is gossip the goal is lost.  Speak something beautiful.  The goal can be found only in silence.  The second one is talking about yourself; this must be eliminated.  The third step of silence is not to cast your pearls, wisdom and ideas in front of those who are not ready to accept them, because they will step on them, and turn and devour you.

"These activities of speech must be guarded very carefully.  Sagittarians must especially lay strong emphasis on mental silence so that they do not even mentally express harmful speech.

"During the month of Sagittarius, we can exercise severe discipline of speech.  As we learn to keep silent and speak the right words at the right time to the right person, a sense of direction develops and what to do and where to go is seen more clearly."

Over the holiday season with family and friends is a good time to practice beautiful speech and refrain from harmful speech.

139 - What is Love?

Posting and Painting by Santana Star.
Painting of Beach Path Napilli, Maui, Hawaii (acrylic on canvas).

Love is Life; Love is the song of the Absolute, and all manifestation is a harp through which he is playing his music expressing His Love. Therefore the supreme duty of every creature is to Love. Each time we truly Love, we express that Divine Current, that Divine Song.”  Science of Becoming Oneself , pp. 164-165 by Torkom Saraydarian
What is my understanding of Love?
All creatures are made of love or created with love energy. Love energy is the energy that permeates the entire creation and all universes. We live, move, breathe and have our being in this ocean of love, which could be thought of as an ocean of divine fire or God, the Creator of Worlds. God the creator is love. All of life lives, breathes and has its being in this ocean of love, that is God.
We are not always aware of the Divine Fire, but it is going on within us, at atomic and cellular levels and is the energy that builds the organs and systems of matter, (ex. our physical body). It goes on outside of us, as the fiery heat of the Sun which gives life to this planet and to the attractive/ magnetic fire in right human relationships through which we reproduce.

Love is the divine energy of which life is made, of which we are made. All the creation, visible and invisible - from the stars, to the planets, to the people, animals, vegetables, and minerals, to the elements and their Deva beings, earth, air, fire, water - are pieces or forms of love energy.
The most important thing, our highest light is the deepest love, the supreme in life.
What is our duty regarding love?
Duty is your dharma or what is most important for you to do in life in relation to yourself and others which should be expressions of love. Sadly, we have forgotten this “supreme duty” to love, hence we often express distorted love or the opposite of love. We have created conflicts, wars, pain and suffering.
What is my understanding of “to Love"?
It starts with me being at one with myself and conscious of the great unity, the great law of love all around, seeing the love in others, in nature, in Cosmos. It is expressing this Divine Love to others as kindness, compassion, beauty, peace, serenity, in fact all the positive virtues one can think of. It is putting others first, with consideration, listening and cooperating with them. Cultivating self forgetfulness, harmlessness, right speech, silence, (inner and outer) and simplicity. It is having gratitude and tolerance and respect for all life and being. It is eventually becoming an embodiment of love and the holy wisdom and radiating it out to all life as Beauty, Goodness, and Truth.

138 - Thoughts on Usefulness

by Julie Shackley, student of TSG Spiritual University
On page 176 of the book, Initiation, Torkom Saraydarian writes, "In each initiation, one must prove his usefulness in the world."
We are measured by our usefulness.  This measurement is applied to everything we do - in our families, at our workplace, in our social and everyday settings, and within our spiritual Groups.  It is our usefulness that brings the value, the meaning, and the readiness to our service.  Our usefulness is also directly related to how many people we are able to touch, inspire, uplift and help.  We can be around people all day long, but if we are not leading with the heart, then we are not useful to promoting the purpose of life.
What is usefulness?  I looked at usefulness in terms of how we use energy, efficiency, discrimination, discernment, and attention.
Usefulness of energy - The smallest amount of our energy is useful for humanity.  Think of the smallest things that we do each day that uplift others:  the safety of our smile, the voice of understanding, the look of guidance. Our radiation, our joy and our goodwill may affect those we don't even know, as our example is put at the crossroads for unknown passersby.
Our thoughts are useful energy.  Our thoughts can be a service for the Good, as they travel instantaneously all around the world.  We can offer up the best thoughts by using our discrimination in choosing which thoughts to let enter our consciousness, or which thoughts to ponder on.  We can reach for creative thought the more we approach the Highest in our meditation, and the more we observe Beauty in all of Life. Torkom's guidelines for preparation, containment, and radiation of each full moon cycle helps us to make the zodiacal energies useful.  (See Symphony of the Zodiac, preface vii-ix)  Without our conscious participation in the full moon period, the energy can be wasted or even cause added problems in our life.
Usefulness of efficiency - Usefulness, in relating to the past, asks us to apply the lessons we have learned to the present and to the future. Usefulness can be efficient if we don't waste time repeating the same lessons; if we choose to quickly forgive with discernment, and if, when we stumble, we get right back up and keep going. Usefulness is developed from our own labor.  It is the natural unfoldment of our heart.  Nothing that is forced is ever useful, as it will crumble under the pressures of service.  Usefulness becomes most efficient when we learn the importance of silence.
Usefulness of discrimination and discernment - Usefulness relates us to the development of discrimination - to separate what is good from what is harmful.  Within any situation there is not 100% all good or 100% all bad. Sometimes harmful effects are not seen right away because our lack of foresight or intuitive perception.  As we continue to develop the virtues of our heart, we are able to make better choices.  It is the heart that can sift through the soot and ashes to find the embers of light.  The same is true for experiencing negative or bad behavior of someone who is right in front of us.  It is then that our emotions must be steady so that our heart can give the appropriate response.  Sometimes walking away and doing energetic work for the situation from afar is the most useful in promoting right relations.
Usefulness of attention - Usefulness requires our attention.  The whole notion of recycling was based on finding usefulness out of those things which were deemed useless.  Can we apply an even higher attention to those who are sick, infirmed, incarcerated, or enslaved?  Usefulness is increased as we focus our attention and our resources on creating an environment of hope, transformation, healing and freedom.  Usefulness comes into being when we commit to giving our life's attention and our life's action to the Teaching of Christ - "...feed My sheep."
When we realize that our usefulness has no measurement of big or small, then our excuses for inaction will cease.  We give what we have, and we labor to create more, to become more, so that we can give more.
