Kate Marshall answered Cam Torrens's question: Kate, Loving the audio version of What Lies in the Woods. I grew up in a small town between Olympia and Aberdeen. Is Chester based on a real Washington town? Can you share which one? You did a fantastic job with setting and characters! Chester isn't based on a specific town, but is more of an amalgam of several with a dash of "just because." I'm glad to hear it felt convincing to a true local!

Kate Marshall answered SlothReader's question: I'm interested in writing books. However, I started writing my first story in 2022 but eventually put it down. I've read two of your amazing books: What Lies In The Woods and NO ONE CAN KNOW, and I must say I had goosebumps reading to the end. What inspired you first to start writing? And what was that journey like? I would love to hear from you, it might give me motivation as well, haha. I decided to become a writer before I actually could write, mostly because I wanted to be just like my mom.
