Touching From A Distance.

Touching From A Distance.

I’ve just finished reading Touching From A Distance.  Ian Curtis & Joy Division.

Ironically, despite the source material, it’s quite an easy read. Penned by Curtis’s wife Deborah, it gives the reader an insight into the tortured mind of Ian Curtis.

I’d recommend to anyone that has any sort of interest in Ian Curtis or Joy Division.

Frankenstein.

Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.
200 years of a horror icon!
Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.

When Mary Shelley, then Mary Godwin, penned the short story which she later expanded into her first novel, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, it is unlikely she had any notion of her creation’s enduring appeal.

Published in 1818, the novel tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a grotesque creature in a bizarre scientific experiment. Despite actually being the name of the scientist, it is the monster that has become synonymous with the Frankenstein label.

200 years later, the cult of the monster still lives and has become one of horror’s most enduring icons, showing little sign of returning to the dead flesh that spawned it so many years ago!
