International Women's Day

It's National Women's Day!Yay! On one hand, I love the chance to celebrate women and their accomplishments. On the other hand, I think the accomplishments and respect of women as human beings should be a year around and normal thing. But I have hope that one day we'll get there.

In the meantime, let's talk about women's equality in relation to my debut novel, Freyja's Daughter!

When I wrote Freyja's Daughter I wanted to write a world in which a paradigm shift takes place. Because it was

COVER REVEAL: FREYJA'S DAUGHTER

I have a cover! MY BOOK HAS A COVER!!!

We know how important covers are, and now there's one out there in the world with my name on it and my character, Faline, front and center, looking all bad-ass and huldra-like. (You can see the bark on her back!)

Since writing this book I've been dreaming of a cover like this. My publisher delivered. The artist delivered. And upon reading FREYJA'S DAUGHTER, I hope you love it and think I delivered. While you're here, don't forget to sign up for my

GODDESSES of FREYJA'S DAUGHTER

Last month I was a part of the #EE18ers month of posts by debut authors of 2018 over on Read, Write, Love28, Nori's blog.  Go check it out! In the mean time, I thought I'd share the post here on my blog.

GODDESSES of FREYJA’S DAUGHTER

I wrote Freyja’s Daughter for a specific reason: I love folkloric creatures.

While folklore and mythology are fictional, they have roots firmly planted in the dirt of reality. To me, this includes supernatural creatures as well. It’s why I devour

FREYJA'S DAUGHTER Has A Goodreads Page!

I spent last weekend at the Seattle chapter's RWA (Romance Writers of America) writer's conference. Technically, I don't write romantic fiction. But, I do write fiction with romantic elements and romance writers are some of my favorite people to spend a weekend with, so I always try to catch this conference. While there I was awarded with this beauty, to commemorate the sale of my first book in 2017.

I also picked up bags of book swag!

But what I'm most excited about is an email I

Wonder Woman: UnApologetically Woman

Wonder Woman. The movie? Amazing.
But why?

Well, duh, because Wonder Woman is bad-ass.

Except, we've had other movies featuring bad-ass women. So what's so special about this one?

Yeah, she's the main character. That makes a huge difference. But what else? I think it's because she's not only bad-ass, but she's unapologetically bad-ass. She's strong and her strength isn't merely in sex appeal, or twisted with evil intentions as most strong women are portrayed in movies. And her strength

My Latest Researching Adventure: Reiki

I wrote a story called Freyja's Daughter that follows a huldra, Faline, as she tries to reestablish a disbanded secret society of folkloric women in an attempt to fight the big bad who's been oppressing them for generations. Of course each type of folkloric creature hates the others, so such a task is dangerous and nearly hopeless as her oppressors are always hot on her trail.

One group Faline must persuade are the succubae. Now, every one of my beta readers has a favorite group, and I love
