Day 2,306: The Number
You know…talking about this today with Josh regarding not posting my entry last night, it really reinforced something to me about the number of these entries that I talked about recently with my therapist, and something I’ve kept in mind for a while now, a lesson I’ve learned.
It’s not about the number.
It’s not about the streak.
I use the number at the beginning of these blog entries to the point that they make me proud, that they fuel me to move forward, and that they serve as a marker of...

Day 2,304: Up and Down
Man, up and down day.
I was really, really worried you guys that my minor epiphany last night about carrying bad ideas for too long was really going to sink me into a depression…
But it didn’t. I woke up feeling…normal. And my session with my editor went really awesome this morning, and I had a great day at work. Like, I am feeling confident that I’m getting a clearer picture of this story, beat by beat, a feel for what’s truly working deep in my gut. And the time it takes to get there is...

Day 2,303: Bad Ideas
I sit here tonight listening to Gravel Road (which came on randomly…bless the stars), thinking about the inertia of bad ideas.
I read a blog post from Hugh Howey, an accomplished author whose work is good enough that I listen when he talks, about that concept up above: the inertia of bad ideas.
Inertia is the continuing movement an object will make once its been set in motion, even if that act has ceased; its moving on its own, now, because it has mass.
A Bad Idea is one that sucks the life...

Day 2,302:
It so easily could have gone off the rails today.
I got to work having forgotten entirely that I was supposed to move desks today, which meant gathering up my stuff—the easy part—and wiping out all my personal stuff from the computer I’d been using for the past three months, plus setting up my laptop to be my main computer again.
Stressful.
BUT…it was actually pretty easy. I like my new spot. Signing out of the iMac was pretty damn easy, and my laptop was essentially ready to go. I have all...

Day 2,301: Funky Day
Today was a funky day for no particular reason. One writing session today in the morning. Couldn’t muster the energy or focus to do any more.
I did take a nap, walk the pups with Liz, and get to do some model stuff. So that was all dope. And work was pretty low key. Got finished around 2:30 or so, so I got to go home early.
But just…unfocused. Tired. Scattered.
So, I’m setting my intention for tomorrow: it’s going to be a great day. Or, at the very least, a productive, structured day. Getting...

Day 2,300: I’m Back
Today.
Today I felt like I had a reset day. Finally. I got to recharge today. Fully. The batteries have been re-filled.
I went to the Hobby store today and I got the odds and ends that I need to actually get started. Things like pipettes to suck up paint for thinning, so I can the spurt them into a plastic cup and mix it. Then splurt it back up and into my airbrush, or onto a palette for hand brushing. I got all that stuff today.
And I finished assembling my little paint and tool racks for...
Day 2,299: A Pup Day
Today started with Coco waking me up in bed. I was worried that maybe she needed to go out because of tummy problems, but no. She just wanted to get up and it was 7am when I usually get up for work

Day 2,298: I Love You!
Happy Valentin’s Day!
I got to spend the entire day with Liz. Work let me stay home, and we did pretty much everything together today. The only time we were apart was when I took the dogs for a walk in the morning, and Liz went and got her hair done for an audition.
We went to her audition together. We sat down for lunch together and watched the latest episode of Star Trek: Picard. It’s getting better, I think! A little. It’s still pretty broad, pretty clunky, but I am here for the adventure,...
