Fav Reads: July 2017
If you've read any of my other monthly wrap-ups, you know by now I don't really write "reviews" in the traditional sense. It's not something I enjoy, it's not what I'm good at. You want to talk books, I can talk to you all day, every day about them, but trying to write a synopsis and then breaking down the book? Not my thing. I'm also incapable of just listing my favorite books I read each month. I have to say something, ya know? I'll probably never write anything more than these "micro-revie...

Fav Reads: June 2017
June was an absolutely stacked month for me, as far as books go. I got 18 books in this last month, and there were so many fantastic reads. I'm actually really glad that I was able to read as much as I did because I know July is going to be a sloooowwwwww month for me. I'll be focusing on finishing up this round of edits on my first novel, putting more work in on my second novel, and hopefully getting closer to reopening my shop. I know I don't talk about it much in this space, but I own/run...

Fav Reads: May 2017
May was a crazy month for me. Between both of my daughters' birthday's this month, planning and hosting their party, a slight relapse of my health conditions (fibro and me/cfs seriously suck), and general family/life madness, I was a busy girl. So busy that it cut into my reading time. And I seriously hate when life gets in the way of my few, true pleasures, don't you? While I was only able to read about 10 books this month, I loved 6 of them, so I count that as a win overall. This really was...

Fav Reads: April 2017
So, I decided to try something new this month by creating a to-be-read list/collection on my Kindle to help focus my reading. I just wanted to see if it would help increase the amount I am reading each month. The list was a mix of books I've been meaning to read for forever and newer releases. I thought I was a onto a good thing. But the month started with a book that took me forever to finish, one that I actually regret spending so much time on. It just wasn't good. Then came a whole slew of...

Fav Reads: March 2017
Good-bye March, hello April! You know what that means: time for my March Reads Wrap-up! I read 14 books in March, which seems to be my average per month. I thought last month was a slow one for me, and that's mostly because I spent almost half the month in a book hangover. They very rarely happen to me, but when they do, they knock me out for weeks! Out of the books I read, there were 5 that I fell in love with.
I would love to know your favorite March reads in the comments. Or did you read o...

Fav Reads: February 2017
Well, it's about that time again: my February book wrap-up! I ended up reading 15 books in February, which was kind of a surprise for me. I spent most of the month sick and not 100% with it, which means while my editing took a bit of a backseat, I had plenty of time to read all the books. And let me just say, February was filled with some amazing reads. Here were my favorites, in no particular order:

This was one of my first reads of the month, and it stuck with me the entire...

My Favorite Romantic Movies
If it weren't already obvious, I'm a book girl. When I want to experience love and romance of the fictional variety, my first instinct is to reach for a book. I'm generally not a big movie fan, especially of romance or romantic comedies. Every now and then though, my icy heart melts, and I want to see a great love story on the screen. To celebrate Valentine's Day in the only way I really do, I decided to share a list of some of my favorite romantic movies. These are just a small selection of...

Fav Reads: January 2017
I never set a reading goal for myself. I would love to do a reading challenge (if you have one you recommend, please share it in the comments), but I have yet been able to complete one. Last year I read a shit ton of books, and while I would love to match that number this year (200), it probably won't happen. The plan is to publish my first novel this summer, so in order for that to happen, reading will likely have to take a bit of a backseat to editing, promotion, and all the other things th...

My Favorite Reads of 2016
To say I love books would be a bit of an understatement. I was that kid who hid a flashlight in my room so that I could read after lights out. And once that was discovered and taken away by my parents (which happened at least once or twice a week), I would then attempt to read by the streetlight outside my bedroom window. Yeah, obsessed would probably be a more accurate word for my relationship with books.
After having my first daughter, I found that reading began to fall further down on my pr...
