Friday Morning Coffee: NYPL’s Jason Baumann, Editor of The Stonewall Reader
Jason Baumann, New York Public Library Coordinator of Humanities and LGBTQ Collections, joins Daniel Ford on Friday Morning Coffee to discuss The Stonewall Reader.
This June will mark the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, and The Stonewall Reader, which is out now from Penguin Classics, is “an anthology chronicling the tumultuous fight for LGBTQ rights in the 1960s and the activists who spearheaded it.” It features first-person accounts, diaries, and articles from LGBTQ magazines and newspapers that trace LGBTQ activism before, during, and following the riots.
During her introduction, Caitlin Malcuit shares events planned for Pride Month across the country, how far we still need to go to protect LGBTQ citizens, and the charities you can donate to in order to make a difference.
