Introducing Pict Publishing – a new wave of female writers.

L.T.Marshall - Author

Pict has been my brainchild for a few months , but only until recently did it really get off the ground running. With the addition of new members, this company has really began to take shape and are taking our first exciting steps.
We now have four very experienced team members and 3 authors within the name and we hope to grow as the year progresses.

Other authors: Nathan Filer

This is part of my Other Authors series, where I share dissociated voices written by a number of different novelists.

Today I’m sharing my thoughts on The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer.

Many sufferers of psychosis say they hear voices. It’s the most common auditory false perception experienced by those with schizophrenia. And there’s no better book to get a glimpse of this than in The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer.

The book’s protagonist, Matt, hears his brother’s voice – he “listene...

#blogtour book review… with Books Teacup and Reviews

“They all put forward their pain and sadness they experienced in childhood and life in a way that it was hard not to feel them. I came out of the book like I was part of their friendship.”

No, The Second Cup is not a ghost story!

both-covers

Lots of people gushed over my original cover for The Second Cup. And I agreed with them – the dark teal was striking and the edgy font was gorgeous.

There was just one issue.

Readers who saw the cover were expecting dead bodies hidden in fields under moonlight or ghosts of the dead to appear!

So I spoke to people who had read the novel and asked them to give me their thoughts on my story in relation to the cover.

Even those who adored the cover and my novel didn’t think they were a good fi...

The Second Cup – new edition

The Second Cup has been republished by the dissociated voice – a publishing project of my own, supported by Pict Publishing (links to website).

My plan is to publish a number of novels that explore mental capacity and mental illness under the same project.

The Second Cup extended edition is live!

The new edition of The Second Cup is now live on Amazon (links to website).

The Second Cup is out now

I explain the reason as a “note from the author” at the back of the book and I want to explain it here too.

In The Second Cup, Beth’s story doesn’t have a resolution – she just decides to try and get better. It’s something I did after suffering from depression for a long t...

Reblogging: Autumn Sky

Pink Quill Books

Over the last week, I’ve seen a great increase in the number of downloads of my perma-free short story, Autumn Sky. I’m not going to question why, any reason is good enough for me! But it feels good to see this short story climb the charts once more, for various reasons.

When I first wrote this story, it was meant to be a full-length novel based on my experiences. But when it came to putting the words on paper, I just couldn’t do it. It was too raw, too upsetting, and far to...
