Estes Park – My Fav Setting
I don’t know about you, but summer is our family travel time. With school-aged kids we’re kind of locked into the school year schedule. Last year, of course, we didn’t get to travel. A small price to pay in those circumstances, but we did miss it.
We were so excited to get to our favorite place this summer. Estes Park, CO! I’ve been going there almost every year since I was born, and now we take our children. We love the hiking and access to Rocky Mountain National Park, the downtown shops along the river walk, and the escape from Texas heat. See a few pics below…
I’ve set or based settings in several books in books by my alter egos Abigail Owen and Kristen McKanagh on Estes Park. In my latest trip, I wonder if it’s time for a Kadie Scott set of books there. Hmmm… Worth considering!

RAGT 2021
This month I got to be one of the attending authors at Lori Foster’s Reader Author Get Together. This was my first time at this event, and I have to say that it was one of the best I’ve been to.
Very well organized, really fun events, a fantastic group of fellow romance readers and authors. This year’s was a single day event due to COVID. However next year they will be back to a multi-day event, and you’d better bet I’m hoping to be there.
Held in Cincinnati, if you get a chance to go in the future, I highly recommend it!

Make Your Dreams Come True Day

Unlike in movies, your dreams won’t happen by just wishing on a star and singing a song. Get out there and make them happen!
Not sure where to start? You could try…
Researching the topic. Talking to someone who inspires you. Writing down a plan. Giving yourself a deadline. Signing up for a class. Joining a group who focuses on that. Finding encouragement or help from others.
I consider myself lucky that I get to live my dream of being an author every single day. But it took an incredible amount of hard work to get here. I’ve loved every step along the journey because the dream for me is not the goal of being a “big enough” author that I can make a living (though that would be lovely), it’s to write books and publish them. I’ve been doing that since 2012, even when I was working a full time job, getting my MBA, and my kids were babies. All of it was a dream come true!
You can make yours happen! Don’t wait.
