14,000 words
I have passed the 14,000 word mark, but have not managed to write anything for two weeks. I am back at university now, and as it is my third and final year of undergraduate study, I am up to my neck in history books and primary sources most of the time. I have completed five chapters of my book, and chapter six has been lingering on the edge of epic events for too long, so I might get a bit of time tonight to delve into the magical world of fantasy fiction and continue with Elodie's adventures.

Studying and writing
As of next week I am back at university, studying the final year of my undergraduate history degree. In addition to that, I have signed up for extra classes! A free language course in Spanish!
So, that leaves me wondering, how much time will I actually have to write my novel? I must admit that the whole learning thing is kind of a buzz for me. I could never imagine myself seeing an assignment as a chore.
Today, I am finishing chapter six, and then preparing for next week; printing off timetables, module guides etc..... Wish me luck!

Writing day
Today has been a writing day. I have made progress to the tune of 2,600 words, so have decided a take away is in order this evening. Chicken Tikka here we come!
It's not that often that I write so much in one sitting, but today I got carried away with time, and before I knew it, I had spent five hours writing my book.
Over all progress is almost at the 14,000 words mark now and I'm half way through chapter six.

11,000 words under my belt
So, today I reached the 11,000 word mark of my first ever novel, Elodie Black, Guardian of Dreams.
The thing I have found most fascinating so far about writing, has been character growth. I've watched my characters grow from basic ideas in my head, to living, breathing people with traits, emotions and flaws.
I'm still learning about my characters as I continue to write, and I'm wondering what they have in store for me next!

Progress
So, I am almost at the 8,000 word mark of my first ever novel 'Elodie Black, Guardian of Dreams'.
It has been a learning curve so far, and I must say I am enjoying writing this book and getting to know the characters.
