Barbara was born in Colorado and still lives there. A lifelong love for horses and anything ranch related led to a life of farming, ranching and managing a feedlot for over thirty years. She spear-headed a ten year project in rural, eastern Colorado to establish The Grassroots Foundation's Community Center, park and health clinic. She served as a founding board member for nine years, and then became its first Executive Director upon opening the Center.
In retirement, her long dormant love for writing bloomed and she returned to school for a BA in English Lit. and then published her first novel, "Wait Here, Wait There" in 2012.
