Love vs. Marriage

I found this cute article on wordpress posted by Farghana

Love is holding hands in the street.[image error]
Marriage is holding arguments in the street.

Love is cuddling on a sofa.
Marriage is one of them sleeping on a sofa.

Love is talking about having children.
Marriage is talking about getting away from children.

Love is going to bed early.
Marriage is going to sleep early.

Love is losing your appetite.
Marriage is losing your figure.

Love is sweet nothing in the ear.
Marriage is sweet nothing in the bank.

TV has...

The Right Fight

I have found that couples have the same fight over and over again. I call this the Right Fight. It does not matter what couples fight about, money, sex or chores. The fight ultimately boils down to who is right and who is wrong. Some couples need help breaking that cycle and getting out of the Right Fight once and for all. A simple phone call to between the two of you and our relationship experts at http://www.helpalking.com can get you through a Right Fight and back to communicating effectively.

Getting The Love Back

A frequent question I get asked in my private practice, and see on the internet is: can I get the love back in our relationship?  The answer is always YES!

There are no limits to our ability to love.  We can even increase our feelings of connection with someone who has died. People feel love for inanimate objects like cars and houses. Remember Patty Hearst?  She developed feelings of closeness and affection for the people who kidnapped her.  It was called Stockhausen syndrome.
If we can love p...

If You are not Psycho, You Do Not Need Psychotherapy

[image error]Psychotherapy started with the work of Dr. Sigmund Freud who began treating medical conditions by looking at how thoughts and emotions affected physical health.  To this day psychotherapy is designed to treat mental illness. What if you are not psychotic, schizophrenic, or suicidal?   The majority of clients I see are NOT mentally ill, but simply need help talking through issues and resolving conflict.

This awareness that working with families and couples is not the same as working with the m...

What Couples Fight About

[image error]I read an article on the internet that ranked what couples argue about from most to least frequent.  Before you read on, think about the question yourself.  What are you fighting about?  Brainstorm all the topics you have talked about in the last month.  "I was frustrated that Jim forgot to pick up the kids." "Sally, left the house a mess."  Take a piece of paper and write it all down. Throw the words on the page anywhereyou want, with no concern for organization, just list as many...
