The Riff Raff

This Autumn I had the chance to meet the fabulous Amy and Rosy of The Riff Raff (and if you haven’t checked them out yet, do! They’re at https://www.the-riffraff.com/)

They run a London based writers community supporting and championing debut authors. I joined one of their regular nights where authors can go and read, and had a lovely chat with them on their podcast – which you can listen to here! https://soundcloud.com/user-881283567/the-riff-raff-episode-18-chloe-seager

Deptcon 2017

I had the chance to spend a couple of days in Ireland recently as part of Deptcon 2017. The trip was so much fun – I was part of a panel with my editor, Anna Baggaley, and the fab N.D.Gomes (author of Blackbird) and Cally Taylor (author of The Treatment). I got to meet readers and see my book on sale outside of England. But the best part was possibly getting put up in a fancy hotel by HarperCollins; when I walked into the room I had to pinch myself a bit.

Some Local Events

In the month following publication, I got involved in some local events which was super fun. As part of the Wanstead Fringe, I chatted to teens at my local Oxfam about the writing process and how to get published. I also joined the lovely Newham Book Shop folk on their stall at Winchelsea Market in the Wanstead Tap, to sign books. It’s been so lovely to chat to other book lovers in my area and realise how much support there is in the local community – I would definitely recommend all authors get involved in their own local events!

Road Trip

Just after publication, I took a few days off with my Mum and we went on a trip around some places I’ve never been before in the UK (Reading, Bath, Cheltenham). On the way we stopped into various Waterstones and signed copies. It was so weird to see Emma in book shops for the first time, out in the wild, and (as you can tell from the photo) I think I got a little over excited…

Launch Party Photo Booth

At the launch we had a photo booth, and took some real keepers… You can find the full album here on my Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chloe.seager.1/media_set?set=a.10155565103953142.1073741839.616933141&type=3
