Onyx Elixir - M & P Book 5
How about a cover reveal? *squee* Onyx Elixir is now available for pre-order! AMAZONIBOOKSGOOGLEPLAYNOOKFact 752 - Karma was a vindictive wench, and Luck, no lady. Allie never believed in Karma, but after the week she'd had, she was prone to believe that if such an entity existed, it had to be a woman. Only a woman could hold such an ugly, nasty grudge, and make Allie's life so impossibly miserable. If spying for the enemy and a broken heart wasn't enough, someone had even stolen her favorite heels. Classy, right? Bad luck strikes again. Fact 689 - Southern girls were supposed to be graceful losers. Spying for Sloven wasn't the plan, but every attempt she made to escape his clutches only entrenched her deeper into a war Allie never wanted to be part of. Good thing her mama taught her how to fight dirty. Allie would play his game, and do the one thing he didn't think possible. She'd win. Fact 521 - Never play a player, or in this case, a southern belle. It was just one compromise...

Let's talk Plagiarism
I thought I'd chat about something a little more serious than my usual randomness. In any industry, plagiarism is a problem. Some people will do whatever they have to to get what they want, even if it means stealing from someone else. As an indie, it sometimes feel virtually impossible to protect yourself. Anyone can hide what they are online. It's easy to lie and cheat, then disappear. Now, granted, not everyone is like this. And I ADORE the indie community. There is a wealth of support there.I could delve into so many avenues of plagiarism, but I wanted to speak about covers. Finding a cover artist is difficult. There are SO many amazing artists, but how do you know they're legit? For me, I go with word of mouth. Many authors are willing to share their experiences with you, but you have to be willing to ask (in a polite manner of course). But again this is no guarantee. I leaned this first hand. I purchased a few covers from a well know artist, one of them being Siren's Lure.Remember how I said word of mouth wasn't full proof? Well, a year after Siren's Lure released, it was discovered that this artist had been stealing art which breaks my heart. I was not the only author affected. I believe there were over 15 authors who found themselves in my precarious situation.Stealing is wrong. No ifs, ands, or butts.I was shocked, but instead of jumping on the witch burning wagon, I did my research, which led me to the real artist. *cue the anger* So here I was with a plagiarized cover that I was responsible for even though I had no knowledge of the crime. What did I feel? Panic. Anger. Betrayal. Plain ol' upset. You so do not want to be here.So how do you avoid what I experienced? Do not be afraid to ask for the purchase links to each element of your cover. As an author, you are responsible for the art gracing your manuscript. You don't want to get sued over something you didn't do. So be thorough. Ask questions. And, again, be polite (vinegar and honey, and all that). A please and thank you go a long way. What do you do if you find yourself with a plagiarized cover? You aren't the first, and you won't be the last. It's frustrating as all get out, but it will be okay. Most artists are booked out for months, but you'll find the indie community always rally's when someone's been wronged. You'll find a new cover, it will be beautiful, and life will go onSo that brings me to my last little bit. Hayjen and Lilja have a new cover! I purchased a gorgeous photo from the fabulous underwater photographer Regina Wamba (you can check out her stuff here) and the lovely designer Amy Queau (you can see her portfolio here). I hope y'all love you the new cover!Happy reading,Frost

Dominion of Ash Snippet
So there have been quite a few of y'all who have emailed me about The Tainted. I'm a fantasy writer through and through. So even if I branch out to other subgenres, it's still going to be fantasy. The Dominion of Ash series is no different. It's a Post Apocalyptic Fantasy. Here's a little taste of what you can expect! The Tainted by Frost KayHazel blinked her eyes open, staring at the red stone ceiling above her. For a moment, her life was normal, her mind wiped free of memory. Someone shifted, and she turned her head, confused. Then, she saw the monster lounging against the wall across from the foot of her bed. She screamed. There was nothing—nothing—more monstrous than the obsidian eyes pinning her to her spot. A shudder worked through her as she eyed the black scales dusting his high cheekbones and strong jaw line. It was only when his black leather wings rising above his shoulders flared slightly that Hazel jerked back. It took her a second to process that her good arm was cuffed to the bed—the monsters had cuffed her to the bed. Blinding terror moved through her veins, causing her to shake. Outrunning the wraiths. Flying monsters. Being captured. Agony. Voices. Drugs. She gasped at the memory, her ragged breathing the only sound in the room. It seemed impossible that she was alive. She had been sure there’d be nothing left of her once the demon inside had burned everything to ash. “I survived,” she whispered through trembling, cracked lips. “So it seems,” the dark monster replied from where he reclined against the wall, looking for all the world like a predator—sleek, deadly, powerful. She glanced around the room for something, anything to defend herself with. There was nothing. It was a glorified cave with smooth curving walls, presumably in the fortress she had seen in the distance. Her hand clenched around the chain cuffing her to the old medical bed, and she yanked. She had to get out. It didn’t budge. Her gaze flickered to the monster still watching her, then back to the chain. Another yank. Her hand slipped, and pain bloomed around her wrist. If they didn’t let her die, then what did they plan on doing to her? Dread filled her belly. “Do you really think you can get away?” Hazel yelped and scooted back as far as the chain would let her. Despite the hard gleam in his eyes, his wicked lips curved in a cruel smile, one that said he was laughing at her, enjoying her fear.I hope y'all enjoyed that! I'm super excited for you to meet Hazel. She's one of my favorite MC's to date. Only two more weeks!Pre-order: https://goo.gl/sAfdkZI also want to say thank you for those who voted on the covers. This is the one that won!

Penned Con 2018
So Penned Con was the first book con I've ever attended as an author and a reader. I was really nervous, especially since I was flying across the country. I shouldn't have been worried. It was a freaking blast!I got to meet so many amazing readers and even fan girl over some of my favorite authors. Needless to say, I booked a table for Penned Con 2019. I believe it will be the only signing I attend (I'm mulling over RARE London). Here are a few pics of the bookish mayhem!
