Japanese Green Tea & Los Angeles - Green Tea Sommelier's Selfish Guide

I love LA.

I have visited here multiple times throughout my life, and the city has a good vibe and always makes me happy.

In 2024, I was lucky to be invited to some pop-up events (read more about it here), and I had a chance to visit a few cafes around the town.

Here are some of my personal favorites around the town (primarily related to tea).

Enjoy!

The Butcher's Daughter

This was one of the first shops we visited after we came to LA, and I am happy to connect with Kari and Maria from the sho...

Japanese Green Tea Co. Returns to Local Events: SISU/Snow Peak and Holiday Market Highlights

We are Back from Hibernating

It feels like a long time.

Before COVID, we were pretty active in local events, but since COVID started, we halted all local operations and focused on online.

We finally got France's VAT approved last month. We started applying in 2023 (Yes, I know!), so we will also be pushing the French market very soon.

But something wa...

Japanese Green Tea & Miami - Green Tea Sommelier's Selfish Guide

Bienvenido a Miami, the Magic City!

Have you been to Miami? It's a popular destination with its stunning beaches and big-city appeal, two things that can be incongruent with each other, but Miami somehow makes the combination work. Famed for being a playground, if not outright home, to the rich and famous, Miami clearly has so much more to offer.

Death Wish Green Tea Recipe - The Pursuit of More Caffeinated Energy

Remember that old Daft Punk song Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger?

Well, just like that song, it feels like ever since humans first discovered caffeine in tea leaves, we’ve been on a quest to find ever-more powerful sources of energy to keep us working, philosophizing, and, most of all, partying.

Nowadays, tea or coffee is the bare minimum. People are starting to reach for super-caffeinated brands of coffee, and many often go for a cold beverage: sugary, sweet, ultra-high-caffeine energy drinks...

Katsushika Hokusai and Tea

This year, we decided to release a limited-edition packaging for our tea bag samples inspired by Katsushika Hokusai's most famous piece of art, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, from his incredible series Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.
