I met Aslıhan on the streets of Istanbul, last summer. She has a bachelor in engineering but while attending the technical university she also took acting lessons because this was her biggest passion.
The young Turkish told me it was really difficult to find time for both, but her efforts paid off and one of her biggest dreams came true recently: she got her first role in a TV series.

I love to photograph Tibetan women. Although there is almost always a language barrier between us, most of them have an incredible gift to communicate with their eyes, as this woman did.
We met in 2015, but this year I plan a new trip to Asia followed by one to Africa. The story continues because there’s much more diversity around the world waiting to be discovered. Happy New Year!

Grace and strength wonderfully coexist in most Indian women that I met. I took this photo in the colourful city of Jodhpur, in 2015. After four years of continuous work, I’ve dedicated most of 2017 to create and promote The Atlas of Beauty Book and I’m very grateful that so many of you decided to purchase it. In 2018 I will be back on the road because there is much more diversity waiting to be discovered. The story continues. Happy New Year!

I met them in New York, in February.
Abby and Angela are sisters born to an Ethiopian mother and a Nigerian father. Both parents worked for the United Nations so the sisters grew up in six different countries, on three different continents.
This gave them a broad perspective and allowed them to see where need was the greatest. After graduation, they both plan to move to Africa and put their knowledge in the service of that amazing continent. Their enthusiasm is inspiring, and Angela’s words express that perfectly.
“Among my peers in my age group, I want to start a movement of coming back to the continent. I want to shine a light on the potential of my people, and I want to lift the entire region out of the health confict it is in, putting power in the brilliant youth, using local talent, and customizing policies that work in the African setting rather than transposing Western policies.”

I met Laura, Elena and Victoria last summer, during a traditional festival in Chisinau, Moldova. The grandmother was proud that she can pass on the cultural heritage to her granddaughters.
