A Touch of Magic Playlist

A Touch of Magic is a romance, but it is also quite heavy on action. This is why the playlist I’ve compiled to accompany it is generally dynamic and upbeat.

Rather than starting with a playlist to create a certain mood, I usually choose appropriate tracks when the book is close to its final form. By this time I already have a better understanding of the characters, their vulnerabilities, goals, and inner struggles, as well as a clear vision of where they will end up at the final chapter of the story. This makes it easier to find a perfect musical match for the important points of the characters’ arcs, both in overall mood and in lyrics. I believe that after reading the book, it would be easy to recognize how each song ties into each character and their pivotal moments in the narrative.

I hope you enjoy it!

2017 Rainbow Awards winner

I'm very happy and honored to announce that Adrift has won second place in the 2017 Rainbow Awards in both the Best Bisexual Fantasy & Sci-Fi/Futuristic and the Best Debut Bisexual Book categories!

It is also a runner-up in the Best Bisexual Book category, and the beautiful cover by Natasha Snow is a runner-up in the Best Cover category.

This is a very emotional moment for me, and I wish to thank my publisher, NineStar Press, my amazing editor Elizabetta, and everyone who helped this book become a reality.

And of course, congratulations to all the winners and the runners-up!

Upcoming projects update

Hello all!
I thought this would be a good time for a brief update on the projects I'm currently working on. Most of these are planned for next year, but some may take a bit longer to wrap up.

1. A Touch of Magic, a MM paranormal contemporary romance, is currently with my editor, and is scheduled to be released with NineStar Press on May, 2018.

2. I'm currently in the process of writing a sequel to my debut MM sci-fi novel, Adrift. The second book in the series is tentatively titled Ashore, and is planned for late 2018.

3. The next planned project is the sequel to my MM fantasy short, The Castaway Prince. A lot of readers wondered what happened to the characters after the story was over, so I decided to continue their adventures! Hopefully this will turn into a trilogy of short stories about Prince Stephan and his journey of self-discovery.

4. A secret project that hopefully I'll be able to announce toward the end of the year. This is a very exciting one, so stay tuned for further updates!

That is it for now. Of course, there are more book ideas floating around in my head that hopefully will get to be put down to paper!

The fashions in The Castaway Prince

The fashions in The Castaway Prince

In a story where the main character is dressed as a woman most of the time, it was important to focus on the clothes to describe what it is that he chooses to wear.
The fashions of the fictional countries of Esnia and Seveihar are reminiscent of the European fashion style of the second half of the 16th century - long full-skirted gowns, trimmed with embroidery and goldwork, sometimes with emphasized shoulders, worn over petticoats and silk chemises. Stephan's formal ball gown, for example, is heavy on ornamentation, with an overdress of dark blue velvet and a high collar.
If you want to get an impression of the style, check out the famous portrait of Eleonora di Garzia di Toledo by Alessandro Allori (1553–1576).
With the clothing being so elaborate, it's a small wonder he needed all that help getting ready!
