Check out Ch 1 of "Deception"

Picture Chapter 1

Imagine the sounds of sirens blaring, bagpipes playing, feet marching, and people crying. Someone instructing your every movement and people – including yourself – following. Everyone in sync, marching beside your brothers and sisters, pledging your lives to your country while serving the citizens within it. Hearing the national anthem sung from what looks like an angel with long, chestnut silky hair and hazel eyes. The lights from the camera reflect off her beige skin. It is as if the heavens from above are shining down on this joyous moment.
This is my police academy graduation, but as this joyous ceremony comes to an end, the congratulatory speeches and handshakes are just the beginning. Family and friends express their appreciation for the path I have taken, commending me on what they see as one of the great decisions I’ve made in my life thus far. They offer their support in any way possible to help give me the courage and strength I need to become fully effective in fulfilling my duties as a newfound officer of the law.
In the midst of all the commotion, the voice that sounds like that of an angel starts to move swiftly in my direction. The crowd then parts like the red sea, commanded by a higher power, and everything around me becomes distant as she comes closer.
I gaze into her eyes as if I was in a trance and everything stops. She stands in front of me and I can swear a similar light shines down from above us, but it isn’t flashes this time; it’s the light I see as our lips touch and her tongue seduces mine.
My hands slowly graze her hair, pushing it back. The intensity of the kiss arouses my senses as she pulls away, making me yearn for more.
She kisses me and it feels like the very first time. My friend, who has always shown me support and I have longed for, for many years.
It is as if on this very day, my whole life has come together. My life, which was once broken, is now mended.
At this point, my life has never felt so good. I’ve fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming an officer of the law, and I’ve won the heart of the woman who I’d been longing for for years.
Life is good. My life is good, and I swear it can’t get any better. This feeling is something I wouldn’t trade for the world, but though the day has come to an end, this moment never will.
As we all part to go our separate ways, I say goodbye to my family and friends. Then I kiss my Angel adieu.
I leave with my head held high, chest up, and a look of accomplishment on my face, while the smell of success lingers in the air from the sweet aroma of petals spiraling freely.
Leaving the graduation, I begin the start of something new. I sit in my car and begin to think about how much my life has changed, how life has not only changed my way of thinking but how I view certain things that make me think.
Could I have honestly gotten lucky enough to achieve everything in life that I dreamt of as a kid? Growing up, I didn’t think it was possible until now.
As I take a deep breath, I can’t help but have a smile on my face because this was a memorable moment. I am truly grateful for everything, yet eager to further my career and continue the path I was destined to walk.
I start the car on this bright sunny day and begin to feel shivers trickle down my spine. As I turn the wheel and begin to pull out of the driveway, I can hear the sound from the gravel rustling together as it meets the rubber.
I accelerate off into the sunset with the wind whipping my face, the sun beating and the sound of chirping birds serenading me. This is going to be a good day.
My smile remains on my face until I hear those sirens once again, not from a ceremony this time but from justice being sought.
I then turn my head and see a vehicle approaching as a police car follows. My initial reaction is to slow the suspect down, so I move off to the side of the road in order to do so, but I realize he has his own agenda. He swipes me, pushing the car, making me lose control of my own vehicle.
As I’m turning side to side uncontrollably, my life flashes before my eyes. That same flash that once was good has forsaken me. It ultimately becomes blinding, resulting in me crashing into the beginning end of a highway divider.
My head hits the steering wheel. I begin to bleed profusely as my car remains jammed into the rail. As airbags tear the flesh of my face from its delayed deployment, I see a vague figure behind all of the blood within my eyes, asking me questions I can’t understand due to the ringing shutting out the voices.
The flash that was once bright dims to complete blackness.

How I became an author

I was reintroduced to writing through modeling. A fellow author contacted me via email in hopes that I’d be one of the models for his book cover and I graciously accepted. He kept me updated throughout the process but at the same time, it sparked my interest.

I eventually told him, I was considering writing my own book. As stated before, I was reintroduced to writing so I had some experience. I wrote poetry and a fiction book in the past so this wasn’t new to me. Though it wasn’t new, it was still going to be a challenge. Luckily, the author was kind enough to take me under his wing and teach me some important information. At that point, I took his advice. I asked a fellow reader to critique my way of writing, I wanted my words to pop out to the point when people read my book, they envisioned it. After weeks of constant erasing, rephrasing, etc. I felt I finally evolved, I became an author.

Sometimes if you just ask, you can get the answers to all your questions. We as people tend to make things harder than it needs to be, which I’ve learned through personal experience.
