DREW
I needed a job.
Life dealing me a hard blow was nothing new.
After losing my job, and then the place I was living, I needed help. The last thing I wanted to do was call my uncle and beg for a job, but that’s what I ended up doing.
He worked with MMA fighters and among them was Asher Ramsey.
Light heavyweight champion.
Ladies’ Man.
A temptation I wasn’t prepared for.
His slate colored eyes and inked skin made me itch for my pencils and paper so I could capture every detail.
After he offered to let me stay in his guest room, I discovered he had a secret.
Now, I just had to lie to him and myself when I said it didn’t affect me. Not at all.
ASHER
My life was a lie.
The biggest fight of my career was only weeks away. My focus was on keeping my title and belt away from some up-and-comer. I trained hard and couldn’t afford any distractions.
When a new guy started working at the training center, I never thought it would lead to me bringing him back to my apartment. I was just trying to do him a favor.
Harmless, really.
Because he was straight, right?
Didn’t matter. Drew was my coach’s nephew and completely off limits.
I had no idea why I then told him he could live in my spare bedroom. Temporarily, of course.
It was destined for disaster. Not only was I battling my attraction to him, I was also busy trying to convince the world that I wasn’t gay.
