It’s Official: I’m Addicted to TikTok

Me during the pandemic: “I don’t know about this TikTok thing. Isn’t that bad for kids or something? I have no idea what is going on here.”

Me in 2021: “AUTHORS are on TikTok in droves? Not me. No way nope.

Me in June 2021: “There are a lot of funny people on here. This is fun. Glad I’m not actually ‘on’ TikTok though. I’m not particularly and hate myself on video.”

Me in July 2021: “Ugh, not another author I love on TikTok. Fine, I’ll (very reluctantly) try it.”

Me in August: “I LOVE TIKTOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

It’s Release Day for the Kingdoms of Meria Conclusion

Her Voyager King is out today! Some fast facts about the series:

* Kipp Aldwine was inspired by Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. Re-watching after I’d purchased the 4D edition during lockdown, I began to wonder what a “returned hero” might look like in the world I’d been thinking of in my head for the past year or so.

* The third book in the series, Taken by the Elderman, was the one I’d looked forward to writing from the start knowing a “warrior priest” type figure, inspired by the Weeping Monk in Cursed on Neetflix.

* Yes, I am often inspired by movies or TV shows. I watch a lot of both, and the wheels are always turning!

* Will there be more books in Meria? I would love to write a spin-off, explore Queen Cettina’s fate and a see a few other characters make a re-appearance in the future. Time will tell. . .

* By now, if you’ve read the blurb for Her Voyager King, or even the comments above, you know the queen of Edingham is not Kipp’s love interest. However, in early plotting of the series, I had intended Kipp and Cettina to marry, thus ending the feud between their kingdoms. But plans changed!

You can download Her Voyager King on Amazon or read in Kindle Unlimited. As always, the release week price is reduced but will go up to $3.99 by next week.

What’s Coming This Year {2021}

So many exciting projects in the works! I wanted to share a quick update about what’s coming up this year. In addition to another sexy small tow Boys of Bridgewater book under my contemporary romance pen name, Bella Michaels, I’ve got the following projects on tap for the remainder of 2021:

Her Voyager King, the final installment in the Kingdoms of Meria series (Preorder for $2.99, coming June 22, 2021)The final Bloodwite book, coming this summer for my paranormal, vampire romance fansLe Comte and Le Chef, the next two French translations of Order of the Broken BladeMy German translator will soon be hard at work on getting Taken by the Elderman and Her Voyager King coming later this year in German

And then, this fall, something readers have been asking for which I’m delighted to bring them. . . a Border Series spin-off! Set thirty years after the end of The King’s Reward, this brand new historical romance series will venture back to the border. Meet old friends, and new ones, and even get a glimpse of William Wallace as a brand new cast of characters sweep us away to medieval England and Scotland once again.

If you’re not already signed up as a CM Insider or in our Blood & Brawn reader group, join me in both so you don’t miss any of the 2021 goodies.

Taken by the Elderman: Interview with Aiken

I recently caught up with the hero of Taken by the Elderman (thanks to a little time travel magic.) He is an interesting character, to be sure. Obviously not predisposed to idle chatter, Aiken was quite difficult, at times, to pull answers from. I got the sense he was hiding many details of his life. Even so, I’m glad he was able to take time out of his busy schedule to talk to me.

Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me today Aiken.

Chat? My apologies, I do not think I know that word.

Ah, sorry. This pesky time travel, “across the centuries” thing. I’m grateful you’re able to speak to me. It seems there’s lots happening in Meria these days?

It has been a busy time, aye. Between the Oryan’s sinking and Father Silvester’s meddling in the affairs of both kingdoms, as well as the trouble with some of the warmongers in Edingham, I fear this is a most unstable period of time.

Warmongers ? So that is a term you use in your time as well?

I confess to having heard in from the woman who arranged this interview. Though I quite like it.

I think there is a lot about my time you would enjoy. Speaking of things you enjoy, what do you like to do when you’re not fighting bad guys?

As you know, I am an Elderman, a Shadow Warrior to be precise. As such, I’ve little time to myself. When I do, I can often be found in the training yard.

I understand an Elderman is like a priest, but what exactly is a Shadow Warrior?

Years ago, the leader of our church, Father Silvester, commissioned some of the greatest swordsman in the Isle to train a select group of men than some now call Shadow Warriors, though it is not a term we use for ourselves.

Impressive! Congrats on being chosen for such an elite group. Have you always been skilled with the sword?

As a child raised in a brothel, nay, I was not taught the skill until much later in life.

I didn’t know if you felt comfortable talking about your childhood.

I am quite comfortable discussing it. Though I do not know my father, I am blessed with a mother who gave me all that she could. She says I was “rescued” from her world, but I learned much about resilience from she and her friends.

T ell us about your “rescue” as your mother calls it.

Tis a long story, to be sure.

Since you’re reluctant to talk about that particular event, I’ll just leave readers with a link to Taken by the Elderman where they can get more information about your origins and what you’re up to currently. I won’t take any more of your time today. But is there anything else you’d like to add which I didn’t ask?

Since I am a man of a few words, I am content to leave it at that.

Well, thank you, Aiken, for taking the time to speak to us today.

Many thanks for your interest in my story.

If you’d like to learn more about Aiken’s mysterious “rescuer” and his current predicament with the princess of Edingham, a topic he asked for me not to discuss, grab Taken by the Elderman, a captive, forbidden romance, on Amazon and in Kindle Unlimited. If you missed the first two books in the Kingdoms of Meria series, start here.
